But isnt it per thread instead of per board now?
Doesn't seem like it. Before, you had to either wait 15 minutes or do an e-mail verification to get the captcha for your first post. After that, the 4chan_pass cookie that was assigned to you would be considered verified and you'd be going straight to captchas after that, and those really hard ones would ease up with time as you post more, basically the server tracking your 4chan_pass ID's activity. The more active you are, the less annoying captchas you get, and eventually you get the classic B&W ones with verification skips. If you have a dynamic IP, it would occassionally throw you another timeout or a harder captcha once depending on how active you were to do an extra sanity check.

It was clearly meant to reward active posters and deter bots, but instead it deterred posters that didn't keep their cookies or phoneposted since they'd be considered as fresh posters and would need to wait those 15 minutes and bots/schizos had no issue dealing with it to keep shitting up the boards. Seems like the same verification system is still in place, but now that the hack went down RapeApe feels a little bit of motivation to encourage more activity so that too many people won't end up leaving for altchans, and he dropped it down to a much saner 2 minute cooldown with no e-mail verification. Wait 2 minutes, post whatever whenever, you're now "initiated" the same way back when it was a 15 minute wait.

Reactions: Not a bee
the only reason to go back to 4chan is lurking and maybe posting a request on the request threads. shame about those kind of share generals where the instructions are on the first post to foolproof retards with the death of pdf now.

i thought /qa/ was removed ages ago? hence the whole sharty exodus

so how is it you say /qa/ redirects to a 404 just now?
Retard! Until before the hack, /qa/ existed but was locked. There were a few thimble threads left, you couldn't post to it. After it came up, it 404ed instead.

Admins wanted the stories to be more serious and edgy as part of their autistic larp
/x/ was kind of a derealization/psychosis incubator with /ng/ and all the LARPing and some grooming shit going on there, it doesn't surprise me they had completely co-opted SCP lore to incorporate it into their board theater there.
Looking at the big picture, shits pretty insidious and deliberate. Its well-established they want their brainrot to spread like cancer. Why do they want control of information spaces? Why do they want to be school teachers? Its easy to dismiss it as they're just petty and want to powertrip, but they have a airsupport, shit like USAID is to support their spread even. They're some of the most degenerate people around and the government isn't shutting them down from taking administrative roles in online boards that (cumulatively across various sites) reach and influence millions.
People don't take it serious enough. Its not that their content and influence is compelling, the problem is its garbage and it has institutional air support.
They're co-opting grassroots shit, corrupting it, and using it as a vector for their shit.
And that air support is MKUltra shit. These dumb fucks aren't the ones driving it.
And I know that sounds schizo.

sorry for not being a 4chan expert like you
Have you considered not just saying retarded shit when you have no clue what you're talking about?
you say like they won't look for other places to infest, especially altchans since reddit is already taken over.
This is why troons need to be gassed. There is no cure for troonery that does not involve getting rid of troons.

I always thought that was because the palace eunuchs were too scared to make changes without Hiro's permission but obviously that guy is permanently asleep at the wheel and with their indignation with the hack they finally decided to delete Hiro's "property."

some people are saying that cookie fuckery is resetting the timers to 2 minutes every time you try to post but regularly it should be 2 minutes then 60 seconds per post.
of course you can skip all that by buying cuckpass.

I guess 4chan has finally exhausted all of its built-up "goodwill" or "legacy" from the decade before 2016, as much of a pillar as it was for the Web 2.0 era of the internet, now it's practically become the Something Awful of that cultural timespan. A relic full of it's generational newfags turned oldfags, who are now coping with the mass amount of changes in and outside the internet. Technologically, morally, etc. It's a brave new world full of vapid soyteens who are just too vulgar and rootless for the golden-agers' tastes. "The internet isn't what it used to be at all". That is true, no doubt, but inevitable since we're not just talking about small differences in a single millennial generation, but this new seismic shift as the reins are slowly handed off to the Zoomers.

The Farms is unique in that it was created at the tail-end of Web 2.0 and the start of Web 3.0. So there's this mix of both oldtimers and youngins. Not too archaic to be unpalatable for newgens, but not too mired with the current modern trappings to not feel at home for the elders. It's a nice bridge and a vantage point to see this zeitgeist hand-off. It interests me immensely, being a person (Retard) who enjoys studying what causes these fluxes within culture, history, or whatever.

If it's any consolation to the 4channers here, then in another 20 years you'll be seeing the Zoomers Soyteens having to grapple with the same bullshit and unfamilar shitposting from their Gen Alpha offspring. They'll be making their own shit stirring in whatever neo-sharty that crops up. That will be a funny thing to see since I can't even imagine how the "counter-cultural" internet will look by then. Assuming something does happen for once and we're not all mentally destroyed by then.

Obligatory:

There was a lot of shit on /x/ that was actually legit, but these threads would get flooded with shills who would inject insanity into the thread. I saw this happen over and over again. Stuff that was real but seemed borderline schizo would get transformed into full schizo shit. I believe this was done on purpose.

Speaking of /qa/ I'm never loading it again.

I'm not going to let the troons overwrite my browser history. This is my permanent trophy from the hack. An immutable record of what happened.
I opened it up in Firefox in the middle of it slowing to a near crawl to save as the entire front page, I could prob zip that up and post it here

I see where you're coming from with the idea that the government hijacked the SCP foundation community and a lot of other online communities to push autistic agendas. For me I don't believe in this because the government is currently focused on fucking up leftist movements in the US and any movement that goes against Israel really.

The government are the leftist movements (always have been). The point of the left is to control the right.
The left is like the anger bell for pavlov's dogs. Its a repellent. Its why the left switched to a pro-palestinian position, Greta fucking Thumberg being the first bell to signal the flip.
they needed the left in that position to keep the right away from taking that position organically (which given the America First rhetoric, it was a natural position for the right without intervention).

edit* And it also became a wedge in the larger right on the issue of israel/jewish influence lobbies to D&C the right.
