I said it before but websites seemingly do not die anymore if they filled a use years ago. Even if that website lost its soul the users there just use it since its all they have left. Its like how actual boomers still use Yahoo and think its fine. This is beyond you are there forever its simply an addiction. I do think its kind of sad not alternative image board will ever be a success ever again. I just find it kind of ironic you would see threads complaining that discord or reddit killed internet forums but you know what I would throw 4chan into the mix of saying it played a major role in killing the old internet at this point especially due to the rise of generals infesting almost every board. I used to like general threads but after a couple of years its no better than being a namefag and utterly kills the 4chan experience.

Why use a forum? You have to create an account, wait for mod approval maybe taking days sometimes, and you cant even lurk becasue you need to start posting ASAP to get posts on your account/history for other users to judge you. Reddit is >reddit. 4chan though? All you need to do is lurk for a month, understand the lingo, and larp. No account history, no post numbers telling other users how much you post, you get in and stay in. Modern 4chan thrives on instant gratification like its a form of edgy tiktok its why all the recent post stop gaps are killing peoples interest in the website you cant get in the screencap if you gotta wait for 15 minutes. Its also why all the refugees left alt chans they couldnt handle 1 post per hour THEY need the shithole to move at a fast pace.

You can't have a discussion on twitter because you have to pay for your messages to be reasonably visible.
You can't have a discussion on reddit because you get banned or downvoted into oblivion for wrongthink.

There's nowhere to move to for most people because post-2000's internet is now clustered into facebook/twitter/instagram/reddit/resetera. Normalfags unironically believe anything outside of that is part of the "darkweb" and your average teen or 20 year old no longer has the incentive or know how to build their own site to create new communities. And for all the people who were complaining how 8chan, sleepychan or other *chans weren't a good alternative, none really thought that new imageboard communities could be created to circumvent this. Just take a look at the threads anons made after 4chan came back up, they were literally clueless of anything else existing.

I'd say the sharty is even worse in that regard, you just have to look at the amount of coal depicting Mexican gigachads with white skin and blue eyes. Both websites' userbases are more similar than they'd like to admit.

I had figured that over 90% of all post and replies were bots and AI. Expecially since Covid. I also assume that the Tranny Jannies are only there to turn each conversation torwards the only topic they care about.

I have seen very little active user posting in any of the forums, to be completely honest.
