English is required for coms with ATC but that’s because it’s a standard, and that standard matters far more for Europe than Asia. In Asia, nearly all the planes going into an airport belong to that country. In Europe you have a billion carriers from various countries flying all over the place.
Pilots and crew can communicate in their native languages. It doesn’t affect safety. If you think it does, post some evidence.
English isn’t a particularly special language, it just became the standard because two very powerful countries at different points in history happened to use it. I’ve studied French, Japanese, and Chinese as well as dabbled in some other languages. I see no reason to find English better or poorer than any of the other languages, just different. After all, ‘Pull up’ is an incredibly simple sentence in all of these languages.
