Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

not sure where to file this but this seems to be the closest match. Ru Paul drag race person who is fat died after an infection that made her (him?) lose most of their right leg.

Oh brutal. RIP Miss Jiggly

Really weird fat distribution for a man in that lipsync video. Relatively thin legs, big hips and ass. He must have been thrilled to have a bigger weeble wobble-lookin man to perform that duo with him.

Filipinos have a much higher Type 2 diabetes risk than the general population. I don't have the stats for men, for Filipino women have six times the diabetes rates of while women "controlling for risk factors". I bet complications of diabetes led to the leg amputation and raging infection that killed him.

It’s at the point where average people perceive obeasts to be carrying a little bit spare, overweight people to be normal, normal people to be thin, and thin people to be offensively anorexic.
I know this is extremely late, (and gay) but unfortunately this is the common American perception in the real world. There’s people in my life who think that a flat stomach means someone is basically starving. There’s someone else I know who is a completely normal weight and has a flat stomach, and other people say he’s “far too skinny”.

Asians in general have (ironically) a higher body fat percentage at lower BMIs, and they are at significantly higher risk of weight-related diseases at the same size as other groups. It's so bad some people (including myself) think the BMI cutoffs for "Overweight" and "Obese" should be shifted down for anyone of East Asian descent.

We then conducted multivariate binary logistic regression on MetS and computed the predicted probabilities and 95% CIs of MetS for Asian Americans and NHWs separately at various levels of BMI (from 16 to 34), separately for men and women (Figure 1). Such results allow us to compare MetS risks for the two racial/ethnic groups along the BMI continuum, with sociodemographic and modifiable lifestyle behaviors held at the mean values. The predicted probabilities of MetS were lower in underweight or normal weight Asian American men than in their NHW counterparts with the same BMI, but the differences decreased as BMI went up, reaching zero at a BMI of approximately 22.65. As BMI increased further above 22.65, the predicted probabilities of MetS were higher in Asian American men than in NHW men with the same BMI. For example, the predicted probability of MetS was 0.78 for Asian American men with a 30 BMI, which was much higher than that of NHW men with the same or even greater BMI (0.65 for BMI 30, 0.71 for BMI 32, and 0.76 for BMI 34).

I fucking wish I could find it again, it feels like I hallucinated it, maybe it was a crock of shit, but I distinctly remember an article about Americans getting larger frames in general since the 70's or 80s?
Like yeah we're absolutely fat, no doubt about that! But I believe our musculature and bone structure also got larger. I'll see if I can't find it again.

Americans are getting shorter
Changes in the average height in the USA since the 1980's are largely due to increased immigration from Mexico/South America and East Asia, where average heights are much shorter than those of white people.

It's absolutely not the case that sedentary lifestyles will shrink a population by 5cm in 20 years. Americans eat like shit, but there is not some great country-wide nutrient famine that is undoing the industrial revolution.

Still our diet of overly processed shit and sugar in everything can't be helping.

Oh true! The number of American Samoans who reached mega obesity was shocking. People are being sent to hospitals in Hawaii for heart disease and diabetes complications. Simple reason: processed imported foods, Spam etc. even when those foods are expensive to import, even in a place surrounded by natural growing conditions for edible crops and fresh fish; the addiction to processed foods is a killer. Part of a program to end this epidemic of obesity there is to reclaim the pride of native Samoa, eat the way your recent ancestors did, use what you have available.

HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU DON'T EAT YOUR MEAT?

Actually, Americans are getting shorter and our skeletal structures thinner (not our bodies due to FAT, but the actual support system) since the 1980s, and most of it links to our vastly more sedentary lifestyles.

This is probably the best data compilation I've found with tons of linked research documents.

Namely, it's late/early and I don't feel like looking at it anymore.

Fat is a big part of shorter frames, but could more race mixing be part of it as well? White people are generally taller than latinos and asians, for example (I’m pretty sure black people run the gamut because Africa is huge.) Not to mention how many pajeets there are out there.

Could also gestational obesity and diabetes cause the manlet phenomenon? I didn’t read the studies because I’m stoopid so sorry if this was already covered
