It's about saving face. Both of them (Josh and OFCOM) know that this is fucking over. But OFCOM can't look like pussies. No response is worse tan a bad response. They got to get the last word in.

It took Ofcom 11 days after their deadline to confirm that the site was in compliance, meanwhile Null never sent a 'risk assessment' to them nor was banning UK IPs offered as a possible route of recourse to avoid being subject to the 'enforcement team'.

In the other main thread about this topic I think every Britanon who opposed Null's IP ban essentially said the Ofcom 'threat' was ultimately toothless and was meant to scare him into compliance. Some Brit anon's drew up comparisons to the TV Licence; it's all talk and is done to encourage people to self-police. I don't think OFCOM was trying to get the last word, I think Null banning UK IPs is viewed in earnest by them as compliance.

The best thing to do now is to lift the ban on UK IPs because fuck Ofcom.
