I’ve been following this thread for awhile and made an account specifically to tell this story.

I just came from the Level Up Expo in Vegas this past weekend. Viv was there along with the rest of the Helluva Boss crew. I am no fan, but I was an admirer of indie animation because I draw and write a lot.

In terms of appearance, I’m a very “traditional” looking dude- lean, facial hair, deep voice, etc. I mention this because I think it’s the reason why I saw what I did.

I worked LVLUP in the past as a vendor trying to make an honest buck. I’m familiar with the operator and, as such, was given a backstage pass this year.

I attended this Helluva Boss themed party at Area 15 on Saturday and saw the whole cast walking around. I can say with 100% certainty that Alex Brightman and Morgana are pretty chill and easy to talk to, but Viv…

I was waiting in line for drinks and she was right next to me. She was talking to a fan girl completely decked out in show merch. I introduced myself and asked what was up. My tone was upbeat, I was happy. She shot me this glare. It was like I just stepped on her cat. It really killed the vibe.

The next day I was backstage at the con and ran into her again. I smiled and said “Yo, how’s it goin?” And she just says: “Ahem, I’m off the clock right now.” In the most bitchy tone imaginable. I laughed and was like “cool, so am I.” Then I asked if she wanted to hear a joke. She said no. I relented and was like “ok, that’s chill, have a good one, alright?” I stuck out my hand and she shook it. Her grip was extremely clammy. She left without a word.

I dunno what her problem was, because when my lesbian friend spoke with her at the party she was all bubbly… like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Either way, the whole experience was extremely unpleasant.

I noticed other crew members (ahem, Brandon, ahem, Sam Haft) also talk almost EXCLUSIVELY to younger girls (like, barely 21 if not younger and they’re what? 40?) at the party and then get all moody when a dude arrived. Draw from that what you will.

EDIT: I am in no way entitled to anyone’s attention, but I hold the belief that no one deserves to be treated rudely unless they are rude and I lost all respect for this creator because of that.

Viv had a history of lying in order to throw criticism away, basically using others emotions against people with claims of sexual assault in order to cause the bad guys to go away. Viv isn't someone who was a victim of anything, she's a woman who steps over people for the sake of publicity and free attention.

Well an update has happened. Turns out he hired her to edit a video (even though he could get anyone else to do it.) but the way it was presented and the details were all over the place made it seem like she was trying to intentionally leave out information.

I don't think she was groomed, she didn't really claim that, she just was mad that Rogers didn't pay her and kept ducking her. It would've been better if she'd just came out with uncensored screenshots and full DM conversations which would've allievated most of the handwaving.

She shot herself in the foot when her whole interaction with Rogers was known. Regardless if you're terrified of the creator and his fanbase people would figure it out even if you hidden it. This is all in all botched and I feel str should've at least came out with uncensored DM proof but 15 year olds aren't really smart and it feels like she wanted to protect Rogers despite the fact she claims she was scared of him.

I've seen other victims uncensored screenshots of creators who groomed them despite they were scared of their fanbase. It doesn't help she'd had cropped screenshots, the presentation all sloppy and it was hard to see WHAT art she did (when it's a video.) it's no wonder why the fandom drove her off.

I will do some research. I can’t really make assumptions, I can only say what I saw, which wasn’t inappropriate by any means, just weird to me how invested they all were in the younger girls.

While I understand the argument, one of Viv's many problems as a creator is she's really bad with establishing canon within her shows, and instead of admitting she made a mistake, will scramble to fill in/deflect plot holes and criticism outside of the show. At least with something like Harry Potter, you can understand the base story and everything going on without needing all the random details Rowling added after the fact on her website. I've only ever seen Hazbin, but just from the start, whether the events from the YouTube pilot happened in comparison to the rest of the series is wildly up in the air without outside clarification. And even then, the official answer isn't particularly helpful.

If I'm being overly generous, Viv is someone who can write the middle of events, but has absolutely no idea how to really setup a beginning or end. She has a very fanfic approach to writing, where you take something that already has a lot of pre-established lore and is only going to be read by people familiar with said lore, then throws together a quick story getting out whatever main idea they were fixated on, then quickly moves on to the next thing without exploring the consequences of whatever happened. Which...honestly isn't the worst thing in the world. It used to be a fairly common thing with shows, with the intent being anyone could just tune in and understand what was going on without being lost if they missed previous episodes. I think it's why a lot of people criticize Helluva for moving away from the "hell assassin" style of storytelling, which is a good setup for jumping around in stories from week to week.

The thing is Donna, a lot of the things from the pilot days are still canon but are not shown in the actual show itself. Like the fact that the only thing that can permanently kill Sinners are angelic weapons. That's not some random fun fact; that's a major part to the story. The whole reason why Charlie is trying to make a hotel to redeem Sinners in the first place. You can't just not address something that important to the lore.

If she did something like tweening (smear frames between "real" frames drawn by a senior artist), she probably wouldn't have much to show. Just a speculation.

I've heard some people say that Kesha helped with the design of Beezlebub. I'm not sure how true that is; maybe Viv made mention of it in some interview or a reply to someone's Twitter post. I just wanted to mention it in case anyone else has heard about this.
