I was lurking this thread and doing digging into Billy Mitchell a couple days ago when I realized that he owns a the Rickey's Restaurant & Sports Bar that's local to me, so I was deadset on going to that restaurant and trying out some wings with Rickey's hot sauce. When I entered, the environment was somewhat darker than it appears on the google reviews, but not too dim enough to be problematic. I ordered 10 wings with mild sauce alongside a bottle of Rickey's hot sauce from a wonderful waitress (thanks, Kristen!). When they got to me, they were almost as hot as the pit in Hell that Apollo Legend is burning in and wonderfully crispy. I ate some with Rickey's hot sauce, which tasted good when it managed to get through the flavor of the mild sauce that was all over the chicken wings. The water I ordered also had a little something in it that I couldn't decipher, which was most likely Karl's tears as he's working the dishwasher, but it was a nice flavor. Overall, I would definitely go back to Rickey's if I frequented the general area more.

Same reason Elon Musk says a bunch of shit that he never follows through on, or swiftly backtracks on. The social media high is fleeting and the reality of a years long lawsuit + hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees, yeah I can see why he'd not want to do that. I wouldn't read into it any more than that. I would also wager than the costs were far more than what he was expecting when he made this post.

It's like when null asked if he should voluntarily enter into a lawsuit with Stebbins. The answer is no. It's even worse if you're not even a party and you're just voluntarily paying someone else's legal bills.

There is legit an argument to be made to the court that by unfairly attacking Billy's reputation someone like Karl is attacking him financially. Look at how many people in this very thread are going "I ordered some of Billy's hot sauce" just because winning the lawsuit gave Billy a boost in popularity.

A polarizing figure like Trump could come out with either the worst or greatest hot sauce ever tomorrow. Chances are that either way it would end up with Trump supporters ordering it in droves and Trump haters avoiding it like the plague. Regardless of the actual quality, what's more important to many people is the name attached and the reputation of said name.

Might seem unfair but this makes a defamation lawsuit against Billy Mitchell more serious than against some random nobody, because for someone like Billy it actually affects how they make a living (in other words, money).
