Partisans literally never learn. Republicans (including Trump) want mass immigration just as much as Democrats. Borders are anti-capitalist (free market, baby) and cheap foreign labor is exactly what the wealthy donors class want. Paying white American workers the salaries necessary to get them to pick fruit, work at meat packing plants, or do dangerous construction cuts into their bottom line. Foreign workers complain less, and bonus points if their immigration status is contingent on their job, so they can't organize meaningfully, or else they're deported and some even more compliant third worlder is brought in in their place. You will not solve this problem by voting for Republicans, as seen by the policies of Reagan, Bush and Trump. You are delusional.

It's different here in Italy, we don't have a leftist government. We have an ostensibly right-wing one which the left absolutely reviles, and they hope Trump falling will somehow cause Italy's ree fascist government to evaporate. Again, somehow.

They had declared history to be over. Nothing was supposed to stop the slow march towards a global socialist utopia. Yes, there were reactionaries that had to be put down here and there, like Marie Le Pen or Tommy Robinson, and there were setbacks like Brexit. But all told, progress was supposed to only go one way.
