I'm an hour & fifteen minutes into this debate and I've just realized something, this is the first actual conversation between an SJW and a Gamergater I've ever witnessed. One is actually trying to convince the other. They're going toe to toe, but Steve is being backed into a corner. He's been having to constantly jump ship with every new scenario he pulls out of his ass & was even trumped by one from Metokur comparing doors on a house to Trump's wall.
My favorite part was when he kept insisting that the United States should use their resources to improve Mexico's economy rather than close it off, on the premise that the wall would have innumerable workarounds & that giving a handout to Mexico would deincentivize criminals & refugees from crossing the border. Now, anybody who knows anything about Mexico's corrupt government would know that they'd just take the money & go about business as usual. I'm surprised this never came up.
Metokur does deflate it with effect though, stating that a wall would continue standing where Mexico could slope back into their current status of being a shithole by comparing it to the things the U.S. has done in the Middle-East.
It really doesn't help Steve's case that he keeps insisting that illegal immigrants aren't criminals by nitpicking the semantics of Trump's remarks, which is pretty backwards for nitpicking. Metokur keeps having to point out that crossing the border illegally makes them criminals by default, all the while Steve continues to fail to simply convey that he views a conflation between border crossing & murder as either a false equivalency or a snowball fallacy, which would still be a strawman of what Trump said no matter how succinctly he put it, but I digress.
Speaking of the innumerable workarounds, I'm surprised the point was never made that flying into the country, digging under a wall or taking a boat around it would all be much more difficult and limiting than simply crossing it on foot. It's as if Steve is under the impression that boats and plane tickets are easy to come by for poor, impoverished people. Just because it can't provide a 100% prevention guarantee doesn't mean it can't provide a decent bottleneck.
Then again, I can't blame Metokur for anything he did in this stream considering his nanosecond bursts of airtime.

I use to watch his stream so there are a few things I know about him
1. He used to get into actual fist fights with his ex-wife
2. He has an accidental son with said ex-wife
3. He used his quasi e-fame to get a fangirl to send him nudes then shared them with friends/fans and laughed at how ugly she was. Then when she posted his dick pics he went ballistic and tried to get her fired from her job and tried to get her financial aid and scholarships removed and ultimately tried to spin the whole thing to say she was the one in the wrong and the only thing he did wrong was call her ugly
4. Despite sharing a girls nudes he later lambasted legitimately autistic gamer XJ9 for doing the same thing, literally spending hours criticizing him on stream
5. Had awful sex with porn star Mia Rose (thereby contracting at least herpes)
6. IDK just how much of a SJW he is now but he would always say 'nigger' and 'faggot' and any other 'problematic' words SJWs would crucify someone for
7. Dedicated a year or so of his stream to the election, constantly running his mouth how Trump would be crushed and how Trump supporters would rage and/or kill themselves. Then as soon as Trump won he banned all political talk from his chat/reddit and banned anyone who said anything about Trump all the while he continued to talk about Trump.
8. Months before the election he made a bet with a viewer over the election and after he lost the bet, Destiny refused to pay the fifty dollars he owed, with his excuse being "If I had won the other guy probably wouldn't have payed me." so attacking the guy and accusing the guy of potentially doing what he was definitely doing
9. Was friends with the guy who everyone (including Destiny) knew was the biggest scumbag in the SC2 scene and only stopped being friends with him when he was shitty to Destiny
10. Actively tries to eliminate fans that aren't total sycophants from his fanbase
11. Unironically refers to his chat as 'A bastion of free speech' despite IP banning viewers for saying the slightest thing he doesn't like
12. Plays games for a living but is embarrassingly terrible at them but still thinks he's in the top 1% of gamers as far as skill goes
13. Had a birthday stream to raise money to fix his roof with one of the rewards for raising enough money being him playing Chrono Trigger, despite raising the amount he never played what he was payed to play
14. Participated in a 24 hour charity with another streamer who was much bigger than him to raise $20,000 or so, and now brings it up all the time whilst usually saying something about how he doesn't talk about it a lot because he's just such a humble and generous guy despite the fact that it was mostly the other guys viewers who raised the money and only slightly Destiny's viewers and not Destiny himself at all
15. Is 5'5" and like 130 lbs of fat and bones with a five inch penis that he assures you is six and a half inches
16. Says he would prefer to date someone who didn't know who he was beforhand (cuz he's soooo famous) yet only dates fangirls, one ex being a literal SC2 groupie

Not sure how much this exactly adds to the thread, but the first time (and last until the JonTron debate) I heard of Destiny was in reference to a former LoL player known as XJ9, who was an autistic guy who got perma-banned a few years ago for a lot of different reasons. XJ9 and Destiny were "friends" and there's a several hour series where Destiny half-assedly engages XJ9 about the semantics of his wrongdoings and tried to make the autist understand that he was wrong, while he plays Starcraft.
This has nothing to do with the recent drama and is one of the things he's down that's probably less fucked up, but it's still worth watching if liketo waste your time watch Destiny be upset at a retard for several hours.
Edit: I didn't realize that somebody already brought up the XJ9 thing. But yea here's the video anyway. There's a lot more to the whole situation that makes it really interesting and probably makes Destiny even more of a hypocrite, so it should be interesting to look into.

Destiny comes across like that one kid you always knew in one of your classes growing up who was always picking fights with littler kids because he knew he could win against a weaker opponent, then he starts in with that one kid who kicks his ass and he runs away crying to the nurse, his reputation as some undefeatable badass forevermore in tatters.
