Whining about evil white christian national eugenecists eroding his whatever daily now and has nothing the fuck to do with the video game crash of 83 or the UK gaming market with the zx spectrum and other shit which also had next to nothing to do with the video game crash because it was so irrelevant. Bitching about capitalism. Claimed the UK market in the early 80s was self sustainable but immediately mentions subsidies and ignores the fact that the UK electronic manufacturing industry would have imploded regardless(definitely would have died before the 90s) but insists it was sustainable. But then admits it was irrelevant? Holy shit this guy can't make up his mind.

Then goes on about games in the UK being made by home businesses, sold via mail order, included with magazines and only costing $5-$10... that was the same in the US. This guy has no idea what the fuck he's talking about. "you could not do this in America" even after the video game crash this was still a thing in the US. The fucking shareware bins at the local drug store were still there through the end of the 80s for fucks sake. Apparently re-investing profits from a successful game is evil capitalism at work again? Those plucky british game developers were all going to just happily never expand their businesses, make better games, etc. Apparently every studio EA bought in the 90s that was founded in the 80s just doesn't count. Id software doesn't count, and on and on. and Ronald Reagan is to blame for the evil US capitalism ruining the game industry? He didn't have shit to do with the '83 crash.

I can't finish this video, this guy is a moron.

> like the one that existed in the U.K.

Ah, yeah, the UK game industry that doesn't really exist anymore.
It absolutely does exist, there are a ton of big UK studios, even if no one company is HQed there. Brighton and Leamington Spa are extremely pro-games industry and have given a bunch of subsidies to get studios to open there.

The UK industry as they recall it in the 80s/early 90s no longer exists. The industry as it is today is no different than any other country.

Paul Tassi (more like Cuck Tassi) being a clickbait beta cuck as usual, bitching about GamerGate, DEI, and woke. I like how he's getting roasted though, just like how he got roasted for making a Forbes clickbait article defending the awful Snow White reboot with Rachel Zegler.

EDIT: Ethan Gach is also bitching about GamerGate over the Nintendo Switch 2 delays, blaming it on Donald Trump.

lol Polygon is kill. (archive).
Polygon, an outlet that has been around since 2012, has been purchased and many of its staff has been let go.

First reported by Kotaku, Polygon has been sold by Vox Media to Valnet. Valnet is the same parent company of other outlets such as TheGamer and GameRant.

Shortly after the report went live, many staff members of Polygon took to social media to announce that they were no longer with the company.

Rest in piss, jackasses.

Hah I was about to post this. Today is a good day.

Not only is Polygon dead, change is coming to the shambling corpse of Giant Bomb as well. Dan Ryckert did a now deleted live stream last night where he said Fandom is going to turn the website into one of those low quality guide websites that gum up google search results. Sounds like they're going to fuck with Gamespot as well but there are no real details out there yet about that.

Just need someone to come along and kill IGN and Kotaku and the legacy online games media will finally be dead.

And of course no one will learn anything from this. I already see redditors blaming clueless CEOs or capitalism instead of the fact that every one of these websites started cratering in views when the writers spent more time whining about Trump than they did talking about games.

Not that it matters anyway of course. The best part of all of this is that there is no landing on their feet for any of these people. Youtubers have already ate their lunch and there is no going back.
