Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

Even the Wii U sold its initial shipment and remember the absolutely insane levels PS3 scalpers were go to secure consoles at launch? Both of them ended up being infinite flops where supply quickly outstripped demand. I'd look at the three months after launch as a much better indicator of whether scalpers will be winners or losers.
Scalpers will be fine either way. Most retailers will take returns on them within 30 days. Especially if they are sealed. Within 2 weeks they will know the pulse of the market and move accordingly.

In fact the scalping market is going to be a barometer. If they start going only 50 to 100 bucks over msrp in the first 2 months its a very worrying sign for Nintendo. Scalpers will start at 1000 and start going down 100 every 3 or 4 days until they find the spot it moves.

Welp looks like I have to get a Switch 2 now, because apparently Marvel Cosmic Invasion for Switch is different than Marvel Cosmic Invasion for Switch 2, somehow. They must have drawn the sprites with more Ks or something.
I was going to call you an autistic smartass for not knowing how integer scaling works, but you might actually be right. Based on Steam screenshots, Cosmic Invasion is 270p, which already scales perfectly into 1080p. Unless it has uncapped framerates or faster load times or something, the two versions should be exactly the same.

I was hoping Switch 1 games would have better performance on Switch 2 regardless. Maybe the difference is just stuff like voice chat, but it could very well be 30fps capped on Switch, wouldn't be the first such case. Just buy better hardware bro, programming is hard. It doesn't bode well for the 2D enjoyer.

I once noticed that early-00s twinstick shooter Crimsonland has been released for PS3, PS4, and PS5, and I always wondered how that worked. Or why. I figured they were probably all exactly the same, but got a few more sales with each additional rerelease.

Some Switch games are getting free patches aren't they? I could've sworn there was one for Mario Odyssey that made it look a bit better.

Edit:
Found a list on the eshop.

I just bought a virtual boy. My unicorn. The last "home" console i needed.
You will need to throw the eyepiece chip into the toaster oven every decade or so.

Am I kidding around with you? Haha no. :P

Also do you have the Color TV-Game systems? Most people forget those.

I don't care what anyone says, that was a neat console. It was bad on the eyes, uncomfortable to use for extended periods, but it was still fun to play. I really enjoyed mine and I'm sad it was lost to time in my youth.

I know but i already have 1st runs off all the other systems. Let's be honest no one was playing this thing outside. It's basically a "home" console. Gathering people for a family photo is hard sometimes.
I don't see a DD, Satellaview or Fami w/FDS.

Nice work. I won't be a dick. Enjoy some games!

NA consoles. Though i am now that I have this am considering getting both Famicom & super famicom. I've seen both pretty cheap on ebay lately
Get a Famicom Disk System, too. It has some awesome games. The drive belts fail but are simple enough to replace. Also get a NES2/toploader for general use. It has the SNES' more reliable cartridge mechanism and you won't have to fiddle around to get your games to work.

If he does that then he really should get a Satellaview too. A paper-weight, obviously, and an obnoxiously expensive one too, but you wouldn't want your lineup to be incomplete, would you? Honestly, SFC and SNES are literally the same thing, so just mod your SNES to accept SFC carts. Famicom and NES are legitimately different beasts.

Maybe a toploader. I retired the NES. I don't even play it on my channel. Just everything else.

The Virtual Boy definitely gets to much hate and I think if it had a chance to grow it could’ve been something great. Sadly we don’t live in that timeline.

Also I’m not sure if I’m the only one in this thread who got a chance but I won a place at one of the Switch 2 experiences and actually got to play it. Didn’t record anything because I’m not a content creator just a dude, but overall I was pretty impressed with what I played and saw. Though seems like I’m in the minority with my feelings on Donkey Kong, I loved it, though it does need some work, but it was a blast and I’m excited to play it in July. Also it’s crazy how few people are talking about the mouse mode, it’s crazy how good it played and I was shocked how much my wrist didn’t hurt or anything. Though I didn’t play the wheel chair game so I’m not sure if something like that would strain the wrist more than just using it like a mouse in a fps. I would love to see them make like a mouse attachment for the joy con in the future just to make it feel more like a real mouse. Or just go full nostalgia mode and give us a new version of the SNES mouse lol. Not the biggest Mario Kart guy but I enjoyed what I played for World, but again I’m not the guy to really ask about it, it was fun but not $80 fun, least to me.

So yea overall was a great experience and I’m excited for the system launch and I really hope Nintendo doesn’t just let mouse mode die and actually pushes devs to have it as a feature. Also they gave me a Switch 2 bag and that was pretty neat!

Yeah, the hardware itself seems pretty solid (lack of hall effect sensors on the sticks notwithstanding). It just seems like they're going to drop the ball hard on the pricing and "policies" surrounding it, which sadly is going to put a dent in the launch.
