RWBY - The Hindenburg on which Rooster Teeth rests its hopes, dreams and future

This same show had multiple on screen gags of Blake doing cat things like chasing a laser pointer, going crazy over fish, and being scared of a dog. But if fans make the same jokes it's racism. It must be exhausting to know this person.
RWBY Chibi did a whole joke around cats being thieves and how that (despite Blake's protestations) make her start thieving too. Hell, early volumes of the show loved to make "racist" jokes that went something like -> Weiss assumes a faunus is a criminal -> Blake defends him and calls Weiss racist -> The faunus ends up being a criminal.

I think the triple punch of Blake and Yang being stupid and telling Robyn about Ironwood's plan, combined with Qrow becoming the dumbest man alive and getting Clover killed, and Ironwood losing it and overreacting to Cinder stealing the Relic from under their noses was just too much to take and the end of Volume 7 was really RWBY losing its last chance to be "good". I could buy Ironwood going off the deep end and I'd be fine if that was just what happened. But combined with the other stupid shit it was too much, especially since this was part of Blake and Yang just becoming infuriating and Blake horribly dragging down Yang's character. Which is something that would get worse next Volume.
And then they thought they could smooth over Ironwood's fall by revealing in an interview that Ironwood has a passive semblance that forces super autism on his mind that pushed into his decisions and brings his own agency in his actions into question.

Best part was that Ironwood's VA had no idea that was a thing, meaning it was most likely thrown in to save face.

I’m not sure if RWBY had anything akin to a pitch bible or anything like that, but if it did, it was a few pieces of paper at most. And it was less thought through than when Matt Groening drew the Simpson family in order to avoid giving away the rights to his Life In Hell comic.

The pitch bible was a napkin at Monty's favourite coffee shop.

I thought it was IHOP.
It was a place.
You're assuming he needed a pitch Bible.

He did the CGI for RvB and in return for that he was promised the opportunity go make his own show no questions asked.
I'm only being partly funny, Monty is on record saying that he basically wrote everything important about RWBY's lore and focus on a napkin and that's what he showed Rooster Teeth.

Which I will say again, I believe was only a ploy to keep a talented animator on staff and RT had no real faith that his show would explode the way it did once the trailers hit.

Not that it mattered because again, most likely, RT didn't care what Monty made as they just wanted to keep the guy from quitting.

It's hilarious that they've basically given Ruby oodles amount of plot armor in the end. They've made it so that she can't lose unless she decides to kill herself because of RT's "OMG SUICIDE SO DEEP" phase.

This is it right here

So, I got some news for you. Remember Ruby Rose's VA Lindsay? Today she came out as, trans? She claims she is just being "non-binary", but came out with a male identity , and the totally normal non anime male name "Jax" so idk. You be the judge:

This will surely have zero impact on how the show is written from now on. And Ruby will continue being her own separate character, and the writers will not use this to virtue signal at all.

So that's why she lost all that fat. Yeah, not feeling it.

I really really hope VIZ just lets this show die, or just does some comic books/merch at the most. If they do try to redo or finish it, I hope to god they replace all the actors, get new writers and don't hire anyone from the old team.

For their sake, they're not so stupid as to give Kerry and his cronies much leeway. Which is none at all. I sincerely hope that they don't, but I also want them to realize exactly why RT failed. The hard way.
