1099 is a catch-all that most people use to say "contractor" where a W-2 is a legal employee. Those people on fiver who do art, voices, configure cloud computing, and more; they're all 1099, whether they're doing it as a side hustle or a real job. If you pay attention to videogame dev news, and you hear about how there are few actual employees and most are temps or other; those are also 1099. If you want to make an argument about what a real job is, I'm willing to listen; but there are plenty of independent contractors that do very well as a 1099; and I'm not just talking about the YouTube/Twitch one-percenters.Might be a dumb question, but isn't 1099 income NOT a "real" job? Surely YouTube, or Rumble and the like, aren't anything more than 1099 income?
