He is so fucking stupid it is unreal. "Great artists are hard to work with." No, SOME Great artists are hard to work with. Most aren't actually, they are good to work with, and the only reason you hear about the ones that are hard to work with is because it is unusual. Also, he got it backwards. Great artists aren't great because they are eccentric and hard to work with; they are great DESPITE being hard to work with. IE, they are talented enough to overcome their own huge ego problems and personal flaws, that people endure them to appreciate the art.Funny enough he DID, somewhat, address the hot dog line and made a comparison to music in the same video but I didn't clip it because it wasn't very funny

"Creator owned work" is a stupid phrase because nothing that Eric July and the Rippaverse does, nor any of the Comicsgate works, are great enough to deal with years-long delays and endless problems. Even seminal works in fantasy over the past few decades, 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and 'The Name of the Wind' are tarnished because their creators can't get their act together and fucking sit down and write. That is a case of art being retroactively damaged and soured because of the creator being "eccentric." Compare that with one of the big up-and-coming stars of scifi Christopher Ruocchio, who is actually finishing his debut series. Or even compare that to the big mainstay of genre fiction Brandon Sanderson, who is incredibly prolific and at this point has total and complete control of everything he writes.
Funny enough, Zach's example of musicians being late is retarded and stupid. Only the absolute most famous people get away with that, and even then it is quite rare and usually a big deal if they are late to their own concert. And because I mentioned Fred again.. he actually headlined weekend 2 of Coachella 2023 along with Skrillex and Four Tet due to Frank Ocean pulling out because he was 'an eccentric artist' and ruined his first set by being an hour late and having a horrible production. The result was that Frank Ocean was ridiculed across the music business for being a retard and having a horrible set, and the triple headliner with Fred again.., Skrillex and Four Tet (which was all put together literally last minute) was hailed as the best set of the show, and one of the best closing acts for Coachella ever.
Basically, the artists that actually showed up and preformed triumphed artistically, creatively, and in public opinion over the 'eccentric artist' that didn't.
