Australian Federal Election 2025

A Liberal guy on ABC just admitted that liberal is now the party of (and I quote) boomers and is fucked with that small a base. Gotta say that level of insight was unexpected but took them long enough.

Edit with the exact quote: "The Liberal base is basically Boomers. We've failed to expand the base, and if you can't expand the base, you can't expand the electoral map."

just shit pollies this year, first time i didn't want to vote for anyone
Any party that was promising to slash immigration and at least attempt to fight for freeze peach, (i.e, actually talking about rectifying laws/dismantling the e-safety commissioner), talked about privacy or about the importance of physical cash seemed like a good pick to me. Of course that's assuming they'll follow through or be able to do anything, but it beats the parties that don't talk about it or even go against it.

as much as labour are pretty dog cunts the liberals are just the worst, they were behind most of the worst policies the younger generations now have to deal with

I usually vote for Jacqui Lambie and the hunters, shooters and fishers party but since I moved house, they don't have pollies in my electorate. I'm only happy with my federal vote.

Not like either of those parties will ever get in until all the boomers die.

Shout out to John Howard on that.

Ah yeah just realised you can get pretty unlucky with options depending on where you live. I guess I got lucky my area had mostly chuddy picks.

Just an update to let you guys know that the ABC servers crashed so no more updates coming through.
Channel 9's results still seem to still be running:
Thanks, I was wondering about that and kept refreshing the page like crazy. Their website doesn't seem to be as thorough, so that's annoying.
Current count:

Yeah, I won't out my suburb but outside of One Nation (who I don't vote for in my new area as they never get in and are always retired boomers) I was left with the Libertarian polly who in our area is a massive hillsong shit cunt.

There was to my suprise a Trumpet of Patriots polly, the rest as usual were jeets.

looks pretty damn bad for the coalition so far, labour have gained numerous seats over the last election
Its actually impressive how much the Liberals have shot themselves in the head. I wouldn't be shocked if it was deliberate in some ways.
Peter Dutton looks likely to lose his seat too.
Focusing more on the far right and Queensland worked as expected for the Liberals this year.
They should have absolutely demolished Labor in Melbourne and Victoria due to how terrible Victorian Labor is. But Labor still gained votes.
Maybe this is the reset the Liberals need to be a half decent party again. But I think I'm being a bit too optimistic.

HAHAHA this is great. I especially love the cope about third parties getting seats. Australians love to be smug about how they get third parties and Americans only have two in government. It doesn’t fucking matter you morons! All that matters in a Parliament is who is in power. Labour and Liberal are the same party at this point, and because of the retarded preferential voting system, one of those two will always win :story:

preferential voting system
Its still better then the absolutely braindead US system, as voting an Independent isn't just a wasted vote that makes your enemy win.
But yes, Liberal and Labor are the exact same party. This was the first election I really felt like every single party and candidate was horrendous and not worth my vote.
