There is not a single clinical term that has been raped harder by its usage in pop sci than "narcissism", so I'm assuming Dr. K used the popular understanding of it? There exists the concept of a "good narcissism" regarded in psychoanalysis as necessary to healthy psychological development.

8. Envy of others or belief that others are envious of him or her.
9. Demonstration of arrogant and haughty behaviors or attitudes.

Bear in mind all normal people exhibit some of these traits to an extent. Just not to a pathological extent.

I'd hope a reputable doctor wouldn't try and diagnose someone off of the back of a single interview and background information, but they could definitely suspect someone of clinical narcissism.

He uses the ferrets as a way to make money. With a 501c3, he would not be able to use the money made from streaming ferrets freely on himself, because everything would have to go to ferrets. On the plus side he would have tax exemption status, benefiting the donors. That's not worth anything to him though if he then can't take the money.

This is all but confirmed, since being asked about the non-profit thing immediately prompted a giant projection from him about how he doesn't want to create and deal with the public perception that he's moving money around and stealing it.

Dr. K was very clear that he's trying to avoid bringing out the word narcissism but has to because he's discussing the set of narcissistic defenses and behaviors that everyone exhibits to some degree, and is specifically not diagnosing Jason as a narc based on this single conversation.

He knows he is incompetent but it is exactly narcissism that makes him think he can still talk as an authority because he thinks OTHERS are dumber than he is. And it worked for a while, but now he has gotten popular enough that people smarter than him are paying attention and calling him out for his bullshit.

And Mald genuenly does not understand what changed, so he is acting like a retard and claiming all the criticism and harassment is unwarranted and coming from trolls. It's annoying to listen to.

It is genuenly fascinating to listen to a dumb narc talk. The stories he spins, the way Dr K practically leads him by the hand toward admitting Mald is the problem, but Mald INSISTS on not admitting it is baffling. Guy would sooner shit out of his mouth than admit he is the problem. It's fascinating to witness.

Crazy to think how his fans watched this and will still continue to enable him and claim Mald walked away from this looking like the good guy.

I first signed up for Kiwifarms because I find DR K's shtick to be incredibly gay, lame, and suspicious. The problem was I couldn't articulate what it was about it that gives me the creeps.
This comment on that video finally helped me crystallize what it is. Another thing I am noticing (almost 2h in) and it happens again and again: dr K explains a concept mald doesn't know about -> mald immediately tries to "build upon it" to make himself seem smart.

For example, dr k explains what mentalising is and how intellectual empathy is different from emotional empathy. Mald immediately says "well the thing is, I think you have to do both". (Yeah no fucking shit, you narc retard.)

I really need to listen to this in full when I have some spare time. I learnt a lot about narcissism and personality disorders because of an ex who might have had one. I also learnt a lot about the mental health recovery grift that exists online (probably deserves a thread somewhere.)

Some do believe their own hype to absurd levels but they also possess incredibly fragile egos that can be injured really easily and send them into a "rage". It's part of the reason it's consider a disorder and why it is part of Cluster B personality disorders in particular. The clinical diagnosis are kind of lines drawn in the sand around maladaptive patterns of behavior.
