I was thinking about the OG sloppy drunk the other day, wondering what she's been up to since her very public departure from the industry. I found her official website and decided to check out her portfolio.

What I meant is that its not a criminal trial and you (The plaintiff) have to jump through extra hoops to get the court to issue the subpoena that forces them to show up. Getting evidence is a not as easy, you need a solid explanation why the documents or testimony by a certain party is necessary and why they should be compelled by the court to provide it. Which I don't really see too many reasons in this lulsuit for a court to say "oh wow, this is super important, I better force this person to show up and testify".


Where in a criminal trial testimony of a witness is expected by default. (It is the state asking for them to show up after all)

I think older devs are worth listening to. I read Masters Of Doom last year and it was pretty fascinating, particularly the shit John Carmack went through to constantly push PC games forward. Sharing an office with Jon Romero sounded like a fucking nightmare though.

When it comes to modern devs...yeah, I don't need a 2-hour documentary about how you used Unreal or Unity like everyone else to make your bland open-world shitheap. The only time those documentaries have value is when Crowbcat uses them in contrast against how the game actually turned out.

Growing up in the 80s and 90s, I remember very well when gaming magazines like GamePro, EGM, GameFan, and Nintendo Power were FUN. Yeah, they could be essentially paid ads (especially NP), but they never positioned themselves as serious journalism, like Time magazine or Playboy back when Norman Mailer and Tom Wolfe were writing articles for them.

Then you get Polygon, who got high sniffing their own farts and other sites like Kotaku followed suit, because a bunch of 20 somethings who could barely graduate community college were tired of being embarrassed to tell their families what they did for a living. Of course, they only wanted the APPEARANCE of journalistic integrity, not the actual PRACTICE of it. They gladly took bribes in the form of paid trips, free swag, and invites to big events where they could rub elbows with celebrities. They also gave positive coverage to people they were SLEEPING WITH, and acted like the mere act of disclosing this conflict of interest was OPPRESSIVE.

It's already in its death throes, but failed whores like Abyssa keep hanging on for dear life by their fingernails, mostly because they have no other skills aside from sucking dicks to rely on.
