I first signed up for Kiwifarms because I find DR K's shtick to be incredibly gay, lame, and suspicious. The problem was I couldn't articulate what it was about it that gives me the creeps.
This comment on that video finally helped me crystallize what it is. Dr K is basically the enlightened athiest of 2025 and his little followers say incredibly childish things like they've just emerged from platos cave and gained consciousness via watching his videos. read this comment and tell me with a straight face it isnt one of the gayest things you've ever read. why are people so infantile now?

The kind of people that act like he's some kind of messiah are underdeveloped or dysfunctional human beings. I won't give him too much crap for having a cringy community as a result. Unless they're teenagers, they clearly have a ways to go, but if they're at least trying to make improvements I'll leave them to their journey.

It reminds me of some of the people who were incredibly into Jordan Peterson. Having known a few of them, they did in fact need someone to tell them to wash their balls and clean their room because they were the failure-to-launch types who were too old not to have gotten their shit together. None of these people are some kind of ubermensch, but at least they got jobs, moved out of their parent's homes, or otherwise improved their life so that they don't immediately evoke disgust in anyone who has to deal with them.

I wouldn't be surprised if he attracts a lot of autists that write like your average Reddit midwit, but have the social development of a middle schooler and don't realize that being so self-congratulatory over "accomplishments" that would be trite for an actual middle schooler isn't something to brag about in public. I feel it'd be too easy for Jason to say "I think you're wrong" to a normal therapist and either shop around until he finds one who will just agree with whatever he says or give up and say the average therapist simply can't understand the situation of someone as unique and special as him.
A big part of what made this Dr. K conversation so special is that it puts Jason in a really difficult position to dismiss his opposition between the conversation being with popular wholesome chungus therapy man and the way Dr. K donned the softest velvet kid gloves to sock him in the jaw with.

This was public so dr jeet had to be ultra careful not to push any buttons that could invite retaliation. You can see how every time he makes indirect criticism, he says "Not that I'm calling you a narcissist" which is technically true, but he didn't say he isn't one either. So it's up to Jason to take the hint or rationalize it.

I think the biggest takeaway from this conversation is that Jason is incapable of letting things go.

It has already been established that he has the ego the size of a planet and that he really thinks he's a genius, but he really can't admit he's wrong about anything and keeps grudges. He keeps saying that all the banned chatters were LSF redditors that latched onto the WoW HC drama (mostly a lie, go figure) and insists his response to Dire Maul was appropriate instead of just saying "my bad". He's latching onto something that, in his words, "happened around 100 days ago" because it hurts that much, but admitting he messed up in that situation instead of responding the way he did would have hurt him more because his ego is that fragile.

You can be certain Jason will now hold a grudge with Dr K because of this. He dared to prove him wrong even though K was probably honest when he said he enjoyed his content. Dr K might think he tried to help him, but Jason will think he called him to ridicule him.

I would have also said that it is understandable to see someone make fun of your pet's death if Jason didn't keep 60+ of them in a room with the excuse that it's a rescue.

This will be telling. Jason's body language and facial hot flushes are enormous tells. He's not in therapy or dialogue with DrK: he's in damage control and narrative management. He's using it as a PR opportunity, and DrKurry knows this, but treats the conversation as a Myanmar landmine field.

Every time his constructed reality is challenged, Jason's head moves and he frowns as if in confusion. He's not listening for reciprocal understand, he's listening for discrepancies that don't mesh with the fantasy in which he lives in.

It makes sense if it was - DrK has every reason to moderate his chat that way especially in a pseudotherapeutic context.

I still can't fathom why anyone - especially Mald - would publicly engage in a session like this. It's open to scrutiny, and he's been plastered over LSF. If he thought he was an opportunity to save face, leopards already ate it (funnily enough, DrK mentions the "leopards ate my face" meme in the session as well).

Earthbound inspired Undertale and Earthbound happens to be a great game, I wouldn't be surprised if Undertale fans played Earthbound and it blew their minds. Also probably simply repetition of others' opinions about Earthbound, even if said repeater hasn't actually played Earthbound before.

Part of the Undertale equation is how, inspired by seemed to mean "loose graphics and lots of quirky randomness." I can enjoy Earthbound, dare I say, because I was the proper age at the proper time. I'm not gonna say Undertale is heartless; but saying "Earthbound inspired" feels akin to a hot new website being inspired by the quirky random shit of yesteryear, like Stick Death or Foamy the Squirrel. I'm not trying to old man and say "You weren't there," but more of a "You're over a decade late dude."

Maybe I'm just out of touch with the younger generation my own Millenial group who somehow are more arrested development than I am.
