I apologise if this question is a bit dumb but it is a legitimate one.
When Trump talks about bringing industry back WHICH industries do you guys want to return anyway? In other words, what industries would kids be proud to say “my dad works there!” about?
Everyone knows auto manufacturing is cool as fuck. On the flip side, I doubt first world people would ever tolerate having to knit soccer balls like a Pakistani child.

Is it truly possible to overcome our differences
No for the same reason communism and anarcho-capitalism don't work.

I had a post deleted from this thread with the explicit moderation reason given being 'nobody cares, fuck off' so I'll do that after this post. Just figured I'd answer this for you before doing that.

To be real more people probably should look at politics less going forward. But maybe that's just me.

I could just post these images for us to laugh at I usually do but I want to use these images as a way to elaborate on an idea that I've had for a good minute, that being WW2 is the modern creation myth, it is the bedrock in which the modern religion of democracy was built on. Why is ww2 considered a just war to these people, well its because ww2 is when the allies fought the nazis and defeated facism, but I ask why do these people think fascism is evil? Oh because it bombed innocent civilians, but wait the allies bombed Germany and its allies, yes the germans bombed London but London was the capital of Britain, and Berlin was also bombed, both were viable military targets, and yet one is demonized and the other glorified. Because the nazis subjugated millions, once again the allies also did that, remember for decades after the war, the common American thought that all germans were nazis. What became of Poland and East Germany after ww2 were they free? No when one imperialistic power left another came by and took them over, this one just barring a different flag. Oh and how did ww2 start? Oh that's right when nazi Germany and soviet union sign a nonaggression pact and both jointly invaded Poland, later on the nazis betrayed the ussr and that allowed them to frame themselves as the poor innocents trying to the evil fascist machine. Ww2 is the modern creation myth of the world and any and all criticism of it or critique of it is heresy worthy of death. We have allowed ourselves to become culltury stagnet in fears that we “will become the new nazis”.

Oh and fun fact this guy is a “former cia contracter” make of that what you will

I mean if you put yourself in the place of a Soviet era prisoner smuggling hastily written notes out through the toilet of a Stolypin car... sure, things were better under the Tsar.

Life in Russia today is objectively better than it was during the Soviet era and under the Tsars.

I don't think it's crazy to say that adjusted for technology, life was better in 1910 than 2025. The populace was far more religious, families were much larger, and the state did not yet have the ability to usurp God.

Russia in 1910 had a TFR of 7, today it's below 1.5 with the only growing populations being islamic. Russia could have ruled the 20th century with a population of 500 million plus, then the Bolsheviks came and squandered it all.

In my experience, kids don't really think about jobs that way, unless we're talking about making fighter jets or other big name military/space stuff. Dad makes industrial generators and Dad makes boot soles are about the same to kids.

But factory tours are awesome and we should bring them back. I took a class trip to a factory once as a kid. They don't seem to do that anymore for liability reasons.

The tsars played no small part in squandering things I feel.
500 million people is only useful to the extent that you can arm and supply the military you recruit from it. But to do that you need some serious industry. It’s hard to industrialise when the society you set up is mainly made out of dirt poor farmers. And when you do introduce industry to the cities, half of the workers there become members of a dangerous third column just waiting to chimp out at a moments notice.

Ok perhaps the framing of the question was a little bit silly. Let me rephrase that.
What industries would ADULTS be proud to work manufacturing in?

What is going on with John Fetterman and his wife right now?
Summary of the Fetterman sitch here:

Basically, he is still struggling with recovery from the stroke and mental health in general. He’s also got the pro-Palestine crowd out to get him. Then, he has Democrats worried a run at re-election will go the same way as it was going for Biden and they don’t want to wait until it’s too late again.

His moderate positioning is good for the general but as things stand he is going to be primaried if he runs but the new nominee might be worse for the general. So they just want him to fuck off.

last I heard his primary current mental problem was that he was leaning populist and figured out ORANGE MAN BAD wasn't going to work?

You know what...
The Empire was based. It brought order to a war torn galaxy, created numerous jobs, construction programs. Fuck, does anybody remember Luke wanting to join the Imperial Academy before Obi Wan showed up? It brought prosperity to poor planets like Tatooine even. Based picture Trump. Swing that red lightsaber.
That’s always been a problem I’ve had with Star Wars on a narrative level, you never see the empire do anything actually evil. The closest is destroying Alderaan, but they were harboring rebels and actively working to topple the government, by all means treason. The people of tattooine didn’t seem particularly oppressed by the empire either, and they’re the only civilization we actually get to see. And clearly Lando was still able to have a political career on Bespin.
It really just boils down to hatred of the color red, the color black, and the concept of an empire in general

According to Terris, Fetterman continues to struggle with the burdens of his office and in January, days after Trump’s inauguration, melted down with despondency over whether or not to support Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s now-embattled Secretary of Defense. Ahead of the vote, the senator, according to a staffer, raised the possibility of abandoning DC and refusing to vote at all. He also “spent part of the day locked in his office, fighting with Gisele and crying while FaceTiming with staff,” according to Terris’s reporting.
I kinda assume all democratic senators are like that every day though.
