Kind of a dumb move. Alcatraz is in the Northern District of California, a judicial district filled with judges handpicked by the most radical senators in America (Californian senators). There are going to be well funded and entrenched leftist organizations stationed right across the bay helping these scum file habeas corpus petitions before radical federal judges, who will help them along as much as their precedent allows because le orange man bad.

A smarter thing to do would be to create a neo-Alcatraz in the Fifth or Eleventh Circuits to prevent that obvious next move by leftist legal organizations to free horrible criminals. If this is a serious proposal by Trump then it's not the most thought out one.

So whare the predictions for this bill on how many will vote yes?

How is something like this even enforceable? People who are privately boycotting things aren't going to be saying shit about it all over social media under their legal names if something like this passes into law. Though it would be funny to see if the troons who are running homebrew sites because they realized most of their hormones came from Israel will get caught in something like this.

The desire to restore the monarchy is more popular outside of Russia than in it. While the Orthodox Church made a comeback, the Church was barely able to canonize the murdered family. If it’s that dicey in the Church itself, no way the public at large is going to have a favorable opinion on it.
Thanks for this perspective, I was actually under the impression that canonizing the Romanovs was broadly favored by the Russian people.

and they're pretty much all weak ass seeds from a withered tree.
Grand Duke Kiril was the first Romanov to mutiny his guard detachment during the February revolution, no? I seem to recall a description of his soldiers marching out of the palace courtyard with red cloth tied on their bayonets. My expectations for any restoration of the Russian monarchy have been tempered somewhat by the discussion in this thread, but I don't think that descent from Kiril would matter much in "current year". Neither would the Pauline laws, really. I could certainly be wrong, but I doubt any Russian today cares about Paul I's hate boner for his mom. I would also note that many 21st century monarchies look set to be led by women, during potentially the last years of their existence (Spain, Belgium, Netherlands).

A really arcane debate, but an enjoyable one. I personally hope to see discussion over the Pauline laws in the next decade, how refreshing a change from most geopolitical talk.

but I ask why do these people think fascism is evil?
Because the Nazis held that, as the Master Race chosen by the Will of History, they had the moral right to conquer any territory holding natural resources the Fuehrer deemed necessary to sustain the Folkish State, enslaving any people living there who were deemed useful, and either expelling or exterminating the rest. The Germans killed between 11 and 13 million civilians as part of their campaign to cleanse their Lebensraum. When Soviet troops rolled westward after Operation Bagration, they found countless towns and villages that had been completely depopulated by the Nazis, some of them resettled with Germans. In some case, the inhabitants had been moved to slave camps, and in others, they had been murdered.

I don't understand why modern Nazi sympathizers don't seem to have any awareness of the Lebensraum program at all, let alone how foundational slavery and genocide were to it. It's like being a hard core internet tradcath who's never heard about papal infallibility. They seem to think Hitler was a liberal with nationalistic tendencies who was just a bit too based for his own day.

People think it would be neat for European monarchies to come back forget that the whole reason they're gone is they had no problem herding millions upon millions upon millions of teenage boys into trenches to be turned into meat chunks for basically no real reason other than a pissing match. They had no more care for the lives of the people they governed than the modern globohomo states. Fundamentally, Europeans do not really understand the concept of government of the people, by the people, for the people. No matter who's in charge, the people are seen as a resource for the government to consume to achieve its own aims.

I could just post these images for us to laugh at I usually do but I want to use these images as a way to elaborate on an idea that I've had for a good minute, that being WW2 is the modern creation myth, it is the bedrock in which the modern religion of democracy was built on. Why is ww2 considered a just war to these people, well its because ww2 is when the allies fought the nazis and defeated facism, but I ask why do these people think fascism is evil? Oh because it bombed innocent civilians, but wait the allies bombed Germany and its allies, yes the germans bombed London but London was the capital of Britain, and Berlin was also bombed, both were viable military targets, and yet one is demonized and the other glorified. Because the nazis subjugated millions, once again the allies also did that, remember for decades after the war, the common American thought that all germans were nazis. What became of Poland and East Germany after ww2 were they free? No when one imperialistic power left another came by and took them over, this one just barring a different flag. Oh and how did ww2 start? Oh that's right when nazi Germany and soviet union sign a nonaggression pact and both jointly invaded Poland, later on the nazis betrayed the ussr and that allowed them to frame themselves as the poor innocents trying to the evil fascist machine. Ww2 is the modern creation myth of the world and any and all criticism of it or critique of it is heresy worthy of death. We have allowed ourselves to become culltury stagnet in fears that we “will become the new nazis”.

Oh and fun fact this guy is a “former cia contracter” make of that what you will
WWII could be looked at as evil fights evil, I guess. None of the major participants came out with clean hands.

Go read The Bad War by Mike King. Or that one book Churchill, Hitler And The Unnecessary War by Pat Buchanan.
Or this Ron Untz collection

Alcatraz is pretty much a museum now so this motherfucker deciding to be like "fuck these guys, regular prison is fake and gay. let's put them on an island again" is hilarious because you know he'll really do it.
'They told me it was a museum, I like those, my garden of heros will be a kind of museum.'

'So I thought; Where can we find an island, in cold water, the cold water is an important aspect historically, that we could build a prison on?'

'That's when I called the Danish.'

In the run up to the war, It was the politicians and generals who led the charge to escalation in Germany, Austria, and Russia. The Emperors at the time, judging by their correspondence with each other and their supposed subordinates, did what they could to prevent the spiral to war. In Russia, the Tsar wasn't deposed because of "anti-war protests", that's Bolshevik propaganda, but instead by pro-war protestors that accused him and his wife of being German sympathizers. Hell, even in Imperial Japan, it was the Emperor that made the call to throw in the towel while his own generals tried to stop the broadcast.

If you compared the actions of the old monarchies to the "populist" governments that replaced them, you'd find that those who claim a divine mandate to rule tend to rule much more fairly than those who claim to rule in the name of "the people".
