What's shocking is that Ian definitely could have continued his old style of content without being "heckin mean" or using slurs. There is a part of me that believes a lot of his comedy came from the shock value of just saying and doing whatever came to his mind, especially looking at him now and how flaccid his content has been since the apology tour.

However, I'm also increasingly starting to think that you can do that style of content without committing to online lefty Haram and saying slurs. Max and Chad have been doing it for years at this point, and whether or not you like Cold Ones I think it's hard not to admit that the spirit of their old humor is there, just slightly more friendly to advertisers. What has to be the absolute most devastating thing for Ian, is that they didn't even need to go on a massive self-flagellation tour. They are literally doing better than they were in their glory days, and they're still basically the same as they were then.

And then when they do apologise for 2016-era content, it still feels infinitely more genuine and authentic than whatever Ian is doing.
