What happened to Hank Hill?View attachment 7315054
One of my friends text me this asking what happened to James Rolfe.
Isn't this old news? This came up in my feed just recently:
Edit: the most stunning revelation here is that James may have ripped off Mike with the AVGN idea. At 4:00 it's revealed that Mike directed James, repeat, DIRECTED, James to act drunk and interpret Mario's life...
This is a real "holy shit, the emperor has no clothes" moment. The reality is that Mike is the true creator of the AVGN and James simply had more professional equipment and thought to review the material as a nerd character instead of just a random drunk dude. It's like the Bob Kane/Bill Finger creator of Batman but for the internet age and autistic!

Without anyone to wrangle him Bimmy is a completely useless tard.AVGN's sharp decline pretty much coincides with when Mike stepped back and stopped being involved with the show.
There's a 1000 post thread in the DSP subforum just about his hairloss.Seriously, out of all the things to criticize James for as a creator and actor his haircut is an absolute nothingburger when he doesn't try to cover it up or cope about it in any way besides maybe being selective in what video angles he uses
And that's pretty silly considering what a roach DSP is. But I'm not arguing. All I know about DSP lore is: "Never bet on DSP".There's a 1000 post thread in the DSP subforum just about his hairloss.
My theory is that we the audience see the Fucking Nerd as a character while James has always just roleplayed himself (maybe amped up to 11 a bit for comedic effect). Thus James keeps playing himself despite getting older and mellower while the audience is hoping to see a comeback of an ACTUALLY angry video game nerd.I've never understood why James doesn't just wear a hairpiece when he's playing the Nerd.
not really a revelation
Alright then, jeeze. Find your own dirt to uncover and hog the spotlight then. Go and rant about his hairline again, faggots.Isn't this old news?
James doesn't really give a shit about games, he was just an actor that Mike got to make the first few videos. He doesn't play the games, do the research or write the scripts, and has said before that the Nerd is in no way an extension of himself. And that's pretty silly considering what a roach DSP is. But I'm not arguing. All I know about DSP lore is: "Never bet on DSP".
For anyone else reading this, there are posts on page 509 from @Permanent Resident Cope and @demicolon that concisely lay out the root issue that people have with James' hair (tl;dr - "the cope is bigger than the crime").
My pet peeve is still his FUCKING SHIRT, but at least now I understand where other people in the AVGN fandom are coming from.

I wonder how long it'll take before he disables the comments. Rex Viper is so universally disliked that not even Screen Wave wants that content on the main AVGN channel. It's so fucking bad. The highlight was that James said "James and Mike Mondays" in the update. That and the comments.
What was he thinking? I thought he had retired Rex Viper already.
An absolutely nothing Rex Viper update video (ad) and a new channel, with a new song.

What exactly did James do to Mike that's so despicable besides merely falling asleep in James and Mike Mondays? I get that James fucked over Kyle Justin but I was under the impression that Bootsy was fucked over more by Mike than he was James. There doesn't seem to be any animosity between James and Mike, they both still have nothing but nice things to say about each other, it just seems that they naturally drifted apart as they did their own things. That happens all the time in real life.Rex Viper is easily the worse thing to come out of the channel.
In a somewhat tangentially related discussion in another thread, somebody was saying how they can't watch earlier content of a youtube channel that they used to enjoy because of the current state of the channel. This made me think of AVGN and how I haven't watched a classic episode in years now. There's stuff that's current state is ruined that I can still enjoy like for instance I can still watch Star Trek: The Next Generation despite the stream of diarrhea that paramount has been expunging, even despite how much Picard did so much damage to the character. On the other hand I can't take Darth Vader seriously as a character anymore.
As for the nerd I just can't watch episodes I was fond of, it's like I know too much about behind the scene now. Any episode with Bootsy or "Kyle" are tainted because I know just how much James ended being a dick to them it takes any joy I had of watching them goof around together. I can't do James & Mike Mondays for the same reason. Just seeing James barely bothering to stay awake because he has to sit down and play video games with somebody he once considered a best friend. That's honestly one of the biggest reason why I hate this channel. James pushing away all his friends over this show, the ungrateful sack of shit. Especially when you think how much "Kyle" and Mike did for him. Kyle fucking recreated the nerd room in his garage at his new place and allegedly did it for free. And we all know James would be bagging fries at McD if Mike hadn't come along. What do they get for this? They get to be persona non grata.
Man, fuck James.
Have you considered that maybe Mike would be a millionaire with his hit comic, The Loco Bandito?People say things like "James would be bagging fries at McD if Mike hadn't come along" but don't think about what Mike would be doing right now if James hadn't come along. It goes both ways.
