Edit: This is the person Emily is saying we should trust to decide if her art is stolen (it is), but disregard the fact that she only told partial truths, the fact that they're letting her spam post shit like this is telling me he's just as nuts as her or the number of mods is very very low to vet posts.
Just in case anyone isn't aware, I'll briefly give details on how Tumblr and Tumblr blogs work. Tumblr blogs can be divided into two categories;
primary and
secondary blogs.
Primary blogs are unique to an email address and are your main workhorse for interacting on Tumblr, following other blogs and liking posts.
Anyone with a
primary blog can create up to 10
secondary blogs per day.
Secondary blogs cannot like posts, follow other blogs, send asks or make submissions, or participate in communities. Otherwise secondary blogs are identical to primary blogs from an outside perspective.
Secondary blogs
can send DMs or reply to posts.
Secondary blogs can also be
group blogs where other
primary blogs are added as members and can make posts or do other actions using the
secondary blog, with the creator of the
secondary blog defaulting to the only admin role (which can be assigned to other members as well).
In the case of the Artists Against Art Theft blog we know that there have been at least two different members running it over its life so it's
probably a secondary blog (as unless you're LARPing as a group, you don't “take over”from someone else by yourself), but it is very likely that only a single person is operating it at the moment. Unless you do something to
make it obvious, it's basically impossible to tell what primary blog is in control of secondary blogs as there are options to hide such information.
Also remember that Tumblr allows anyone to reuse the handle of a deleted or deactivated account.
