Yes, it depresses respiratory function. I’m never surprised by people abusing codeine developing respiratory issues.
Her being on antibiotics for a tooth infection and then switching to antibiotics for pneumonia while abusing codeine is just a recipe for a bad time.
I wonder how does she even get this sht. I mean I know she prolly got it from her mom but now that she is gone how is she buying that sht. I doubt she is some Walter White in disguise to make her own.

Codeine + ibuprofen and codeine + acetaminophen is available without prescription in the UK (they may quiz you a bit but otherwise you can just buy it). It is obviously extremely unsafe to attempt to take anything close to a recreational dose for a consistent amount of time because you'll nuke your liver and/or stomach with the NSAIDs. There's something called cold water extraction that can be done to pull out just the codeine but it's not 100% reliable and a little laborious so I doubt Shondo is doing that.
She was getting some from her mother I believe who likely had it for chronic pain given that she was terminally ill. She's also mentioned codeine linctus i.e., lean, though that became a lot harder to get hold of as of 2024 (prescription only). There's little reason to prescribe it to people and specifically asking for it will concern a doctor as the risk for abuse is very high.
Basically, she's probably sat on a stash of her mother's codeine - given that she's now dead that will be finite. She won't get very far trying to abuse codeine/NSAID preparations due to the aforementioned toxicity. She's not going to be able to continue her lifestyle, assuming she's still abusing opioids to begin with.

Theory: the reason why so many lolicons and twitter spergs went so hard into condemning this thread is due to her anonymity being stripped away. Why is that bad (for her and her audience)? Well... according to Coroners and Justice Act 2009, if somebody was to sue her they could make a valid case in the court of law. Which wouldn't be possible if she kept her anonymity.
@Ferryman also regarding the schizophrenia discussion we had, it would be possible for her to exhibit symptoms. When I said late 20s it was actually the peak of symptoms, not the onset. She'd be feeling symptoms her whole life. But much less so when she was younger.

Didn't watch Selen but I started watching Doki & they're genuinely more entertaining than most regular streamers & video makers these days.

It seems a popular theme among vtubers to extremely play up or outright fabricate being a "girlfailure". I don't doubt that many of them are mentally ill or borderline shut-ins, but it is extremely transparently exaggerated and referenced often to ensure the viewer finds them attainable, non-threatening and not-at-all-like the mean bitch girls from school/work (and hence are deserving of money). I think this is also why they very often hide having a boyfriend, not necessarily because they're trying to trick their viewers but because it damages their image in general to seem socially successful.
It's so common in fact that at least one vtuber who is pretty open about being an educated, well adjusted person gets memed as being a stacy when she's literally just a normal person.
Shondo is an anomaly here because she's a bona fide schizo drug addict and she doesn't really need to exaggerate that, but the degree to which she's candid about it indicates its absolutely part of her brand.
Some people may relate to her. I mean sorry who do you think are the people who donate to her ? Some respectable well adjusted people ? Or some fcking low lives social rejectes that live like her ? Birds of a feather flock together. The thing that doesn’t ring to me is how do they have so much money to donate. You cannot be a low life and rich at least not everyone or maybe they are like asmongold who knows. Many questions here

I still can't really be 100% unsympathetic towards her, I doubt she had a very great mental state when making that decision to become a V-tuber. I do think it is her fault she let herself go to this point, to me that is just sad more than anything.

You'd be surprised how much disposable income one can pull together with even a minimum wage job, no real expenses (because you watch vtubers whenever you're not working), and live with parents. I'd imagine that's the case for many of these people, failing that it'll be a tugboat or something similar depending on their country of residence.
Even then there are plenty of people who have respectable jobs and just don't have anything better to spend money on (like gacha whales etc). You only need one very financially fortunate and dedicated paypig to get a respectable income from streaming.
I'm pretty sure a couple years ago Filian's main paypig turned out to just be a truck driver who just spent all his money on her while living in an absolute dump. She had naïvely assumed he was some mansion-dwelling rich playboy based on how much he would donate and joked about it several times. She then did a room review for him and it was so humiliating for him that he went and found someone else to simp over.
Then you've got Finnster who, while not being a vtuber, had an extremely affluent and dedicated paypig who was some boomer heart surgeon with a gross force-fem fetish.
My point is that yes, a particularly wealthy person who is also weird enough to spaff all their money away on streamers is an uncommon thing, each streamer only really needs one to rake in money.
