Lol, I have no desire to be the next Rob Bell. I'm from the Kansas City metro though, we have both a mega-ghetto and the world meth capitol to draw lulcows from.

The amount of redtape to star your own business is mind blowing, I'm a lawyer and it's almost too much for me. I don't know how laypeople do it.

Thanks for the well wishes guys.

I do work in research, mainly ecology and other animal related matters. Either in a lab or in the field. My hours vary on the study and the field. My hours are odd,it can be very frustrating and the pay isnt ideal but I enjoy it.

As I write this from my phone, I am sitting in the middle of a swamp trying to locate a nest of a certain kind of bird (via the use of radio tracking). We found the transmitter...it fell off the bird.

I'm getting really fed up with what a shithole the bar I work at is. The food sucks, we pump CO2 into the beer (which ruins the flavor and consistency) and everything is covered in cockroaches and/or stinkbugs. I really got to find a new job before I get lice or something, but I find job hunting to be very intimidating. But I guess a little anxiety now is worth a better work environment later?

What the fuck kind of a place has a stinkbug infestation? Bartending's a decent job and around here at least people are always looking for someone with experience. I'd say it's time to move on even if it's scary.

Actually its a big problem in NY. Huge problem. Stinkbugs are everywhere!

Man it must be my Midwest provincialism showing, but we only have stinkbugs outside here.

They've been an East Coast pest for a bit longer so they've spread a bit further. Little bastards were all over the place in Northern VA a few years back and I'm starting to find them in my lab every once in a while.

Your standard unemployed student right now aiming for a degree in biochemistry. However, I'm awfully tempted to ditch the plan and aim to become an electrician. Granted I'd have to learn Spanish, but if I go through with that, I'd have a place to stay and decent money coming in. Plus I'd never have to leave my family behind.

Just noticed this. If you want some advice from somebody who's working in biochemistry, if you decide to stick with it be prepared to go to grad school within a couple years if not immediately, unless you want to be a pipette bitch forever. It's a tremendously research-oriented field and having your undergrad degree is qualification for running assays for researchers and not much else.

Freelance technical writer, technically self-employed, though right now I exclusively work for one company. Like my coworkers and bosses, hate everyone else involved. In the past I've done my time in retail hell. Also a novelist: my second book is coming out next year and I'm almost done with my third. My ultimate goal is to support myself exclusively with fiction writing, but that's a long way off still.

I was a tutor at my college for a while, I'd like to get a job this summer though. I really want to be a comic artist, and I'm going to submit a short comic I did to a magazine and hope that gets me somewhere. I also got commissioned with designing a few logos for a local little league team!

I work in an assisted living center. Mainly kitchen work. I serve meals, prep work, wash dishes, cleaning, ect.
I really want to get out, but trying to find another job, but no such luck yet.

I live in my mom's attic and broadcast tacticool self-defense lessons and spergy gaming livestreams, where everyone posts Muslim shit all over the chat.
