if they are deemed to be not "woman" enough
As in, a man getting strip-searched by a man? I can't imagine she'd be worried over that. These guys have spent so long trying to obfuscate the difference between the sexes they've completely forgotten the rest of us aren't confused at all. They try to use "Aha but what if a demi-aro-ace-trans-masc-soft-babygirl-uwu need to use the bathroom?" as some kind of smackdown gotcha when the answer is "Yeah send the pooner to the ladies' room" or whatever.

Nice to see Rowling be the bigger person like this. Her detractors all believe that she's as immature and tyrannical as they are and that's their undoing.

I think they just mean a mannish woman getting strip-searched by male officers because they mistook her for a man. They have constructed all these bizarre scenarios, especially with regards to toilets but this is about public transport.

They seem to have the mistaken idea (or fantasy) that women would be literally strip searched there and then, rather than at a police station, and after numerous checks and balances have been carried out ?

It's the second one. They've become so complacent after years of Pritzger-Rothblatt money that they can't even hide how fucking excited they are that they can publicly recite their personal wank material to the entire world so long as its disguised as an outraged post detailing their oppression as super-extra-oppressed "women".

It's an odd feature of the trans movement that they are constantly shielding themselves behind everyone else they can think of. I suspect on some level they must be vaguely aware that "please protect us because we are so heckin' likeable" is not really going to work for them, so they are always claiming to be the first domino before someone else is attacked and always claiming that taking away some privilege they have acquired will harm someone else. It has been relentless since the UK Supreme Court's recent decision: lesbians will be hunted out of women's toilets, mannish women will be subjected to genital checks, men will intrude in the ladies' by claiming to be trans men etc... The funniest is when the men ("trans women") start shielding themselves behind the women by claiming that they are going to terrorise normal women and the pooners react in panic.

The reason this doesn't happen and has never happened is because manly looking women know that all you need to do is say something (literally anything, doesn't even have to be "I'm not a man, I'm just ugly") and your voice will make it clear that you're a woman.

I actually have a bit of a nostalgic fondness for GERSBERMS, but I will never forget people on this very forum negrating me for saying that they are not suitable reading material for adults.
I tried to reread A Series of Unfortunate Events for nostalgia and those books are for children, undeniably so. Harry Potter can be read by all ages (technically) because it uses age neutral prose. Most children's series are an embarrassment to read if you're older than 13.

Tranny claims that JKR is a terf because she’s actually a secret tranny “jealous” of being denied medical transition growing up. His reasoning? Some quotes where she described how if she was born today, she’d probably be considered trans and forced into medical transition due to how extreme gender stereotyping has become.

It’s clear that JKR had (and still has) more mental and emotional maturity to address and accept her body image and womanhood than the average tranny that is changing sex to escape their original self does. In fact, virtually everyone (and girls especially) had to deal with this growing up, because puberty blows. Joanne isn’t the jealous one in this situation, that’s for sure.

The "they want to check your genitals" argument is a pure scare tactic because most people make no effort to hide what's in their pants. It's why they're so adamant that genitals don't determine gender because that kills the arguement.

With the plot, you could almost mistake it for being a YA book (and let's not pretend kids would even be interested). The fact that the writing style seems juvenile is a serious underestimation of its demographic.

There will be no need to check genitals for most people, and the only ones who will push it to the point where they need to have their genitals inspected would be fetishists who want that to happen

I have the first and last books of both series here for comparison. I misremembered how the prose went. It isn't that different from Harry Potter but I think my thoughts were that it's a little too childish given the plot. Maybe it's different because of the cultural impact Harry Potter has. But this reader's guide website backs my opinion. ASOUE is marked as 4-7 interest level with a V reading level while Harry Potter has a 4-12 interest level and a V-Z reading level.

At this rate he's probably gonna have to bow out himself. Maybe he thought it would be for the best and a dumb casting decision himself. It's almost cruel that studios basically throw soem random black guy to the lions knowing how much death threat retards are willing to sperg out over stuff like this, and for literally no good reason.

If they wanted to cast someone black, hermione would have made actual sense and would be a more significant statement.

But yeah, I reckon they (they being random Internet TRA mobs, who even rabid party-line troons like Philosophy Troon note as the worst, most tenacious harrasers than anyone else) are gonna start to put pressure on him to bow out gracefully. I don't really know what the point of any of this was otherwise.

Havel was a fucking communist, or rather, he was a completely spineless swine - amoral, devoid of any principles, only looking to enrich himself and get shitfaced.
He definitely wasn't a communist, more of a feelgood liberal that was the perfect figurehead for wholesale neoliberal plundering in the 90s. He still had plenty of spite though like when he learned that the literature Nobel prize for 1984 would go to a Czech writer and he spent his trip to Western Europe lobbying against it being Kundera, since Kundera liked the Prague Spring.
By the 80s the entire regime was a farce. The term to describe it is "hypernormalization" and it's happening in the West right now. For the Czechs, it's happening for the second time in living memory.
The Czech situation is more 'regime in crisis doubles down on demonizing the previous regime to take attention away from its failings' than 'everyone going through the motions to pretend everything's like it should be'. Though it still means renaming places to be named after 'good' Russians that have fuck-all to with them instead of being named after 'bad' Russians and pretending that the 90s weren't hugely destructive.

That only applies to children's series written in the last 50 years or so. (And Enid Blyton)

I haven't read ASoUE since before I was a teenager, but I recall it has a specific attribute which IMO makes it impossible to read as an adult book: this third person narrator speaking in a conversational tone to the reader, explaining what things are. It was fine (and possibly needed) for a young audience, but which would be jarring and maybe even belittling to an adult reader.

"Are those Gen zers or whatever the fuck they call themselves gonna love it if we put some nigger into this... what was it called again, Chet?"

"Harry Potter, sir. And my name-"

"Epepep! You don't tell me your name. You're not getting paid to tell me or anyone your name. I just want to know if Blackrock will cough it up if we put this cottonpicker into this bitch."

"Yes."

"Yes, what?"

"Yes, sir."

"Ha, if HR heard you call me that, they'll bitch all the way to Tuesday. Fine. The nignog gets in. If it says no, call a prostitute. Okay, let's go! Time is money, people."

He is not going to sacrifice millions of dollars for random troons online.

It's a performative activism.
