It's because the amount of what we see from Africa is substantially more limited compared to India. Frequently the cities are photographed after a mass cleaning campaign, before it reverts back to looking like a shithole. Also, 9/10 you're only able to see stuff within the affluent city centers and virtually nothing on the outskirts or more impoverished parts of town. Photos of villages are also non-existent, while in India you can see damn near everything. Every tiny, insignificant, isolated village, with no trash collectors. In Africa there is a very similar problem of people creating trash piles and burning them, cause they can't put them away anywhere else, it's just not shown, because most leaders are smart enough to not show how impoverished their land really is.
