His name choice is interesting. He's in the Francis continuum but not Francis. He wore a mozzetta like a civilized man, for once. He remembered today was the commemoration of Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii, which gave insight into how much he may be Marian in spirit - the more the better - and I'd rather take an Augustinian than a Jesuit any day. He supposedly was groused when Fiducia Supplicans became a thing, which is a good sign.

I am concerned over his handling of sexual abuse cases in Peru.

He seems to not partake in the liturgical wars, perhaps he's a live and let live liturgist, which could work out in our favor. This Pope is a literally wait-and-see man. So, we'll wait and see.

This. I'm fine with a little appeasement of the "minorities" if the sex crimes are being punished but bro has sat on his hands when asked to act against clergy who were verifiably abusing children. Not a good look.

Media will lie but no doctrine will change.

Not saying I disagree, but what is our best evidence here? I have to imagine that the electors realized this would be like the easiest smoking gun and the first thing to avoid if the allegations were serious

This is the first thing I've seen that has made me actually concerned, but again need to wait and see

I need to know what the new Pope's favorite deep dish pizza is.
I mean, the greatest one I ever had was Giordano's on the Loop, so if it's that specific location, I'm willing to go easy on him. If he likes Chicago thin crust, even better, but sadly, the best thin crust pizzeria closed up permanently a few months ago. RIP Marie's.

based on his Papal name I'm hoping he likes Lou Malnatis.

It's over. Woke pope. Illegal lover. Pedo supporter.

Catholicism is finished.
It's been over for something like 70 years (in reality a lot longer, but about 70 from the tradcath perspective).

Conservative Catholics absolutely will not allow themselves to see the forest for the trees. They'll tie themselves into knots to justify how Pope Climate-Sins Pachamama-Gay-Blessing-But-Not-Actually-Gay-Blessing-Don't-Worry-Guys XVCMLIIIII technically didn't violate canon 14,926,602,745,592 (which you'd need to prove in a court of law to show that he's a public apostate) by gassing up Buddhists as having "precious spiritual treasures".

They just care that he's not "woke" in a Prager U sense, but if he is don't worry because it's not Ex Cathedra (as though infallibility and defection were the same question).

It's the Qanon religion, and I say this as someone who really likes a lot of Catholics.

I was going to insult you but instead I want you to know that if no one else loves you, God does. Despite your idiocy.
