Mexican here. It's common to have a few stray animals in a neighborhood, not enough to lose count, but enough where you can probably name them and remember them. I've seen a few stray cats in my neighborhood and I know which ones are friendly, which ones are skittish, and which ones dig through my trash.
So if you saw a random stray cat hiding underneath a car you wouldn't immediately assume it was anally raped and needed medical attention?
Honestly, no I wouldn't. Even at that, there should of been some evidence of it. Posting on a neighborhood Facebook group warning others to keep their cats inside.
