I remember either 8chan or some anons on some other forum years ago going through this shit before the hack and people didn't believe it. I did, because I could tell something was fucky with how it was behaving so I could tell he wasn't bullshitting. I tried everything to work around it too. From memory it was a literal timer that made captcha intentionally slower for users on specific threads and boards. Something like that. I probably have a screencap of it still somewhere, maybe I should find it. I'll look into the captcha hack, but I already know he was doing similar already and had been doing so for YEARS now.
Did that stop the spamming and shilling? No. It just allowed it to proliferate further and harder than ever while preventing legit anons from using the place. Hiro is such a fucking brainlet it's surreal. Either that or he's getting fucking paid. I probably should dig into the hacks more in these threads, but fuck me 1500 pages is kinda fucked.

Sounds similar to shadowbanning. They're fucking with you and you don't even know it. Although with shadowbanning you can usually log out or use private browsing to see if your thread/post is really there (I'm not talking just about 4chan).
