This one is gross but I'm curious because I am not very familiar with this particular thing, so for the ladies in the thread:
Where do you store your 'toys'? How often do you clean them? Is it common to lose them in the mess of your house?
This isn't the first time she's lost a toy and rejoiced at finding it in her garbage pit and I wonder about the hygiene involved.

In all seriousness anything that you put near your genitals needs to be cleaned daily. That includes underwear and "toys". Everyone here should know that's a great way to get a yeast infection or UTI otherwise.
Everything else is just a Zoey/trash rat problem. I can't imagine losing anything because my house is so fucking grimy and junky that it just disappears into a pile never to be found again.

Interesting segue: is she truly a hoarder or just completely lacking awareness of her environment. She is a pack rat in that she finds objects outside and brings them home and the few pictures of her dwellings seemed filthy, but is it just lack of ability to clean up or true hoarding?

with hoarders there is a certain method to the madness. From what little she shared of her house it seems to be typical laziness/depression/autism bed-blob behavior. She can't even perform basic hygiene so the latter seems to make sense.

Still, I can't wrap my head around being able to just "loose" something larger than a sheet of paper or a AA battery in your room. And continuing to live in the room. How cluttered is the whole place? The worst that ever happened to me personally was this cat sized pile of trash and empty wine bottles next to my table that upon inspection, contained a chunk of medium-carbon steel that I lost a few days ago.

I'm sure it varies, but more severe cases of hoarding usually end up with junk piled up randomly, sometimes several feet deep in places. There might be some sort of method to it at that point, but whatever that might be isn't going to look coordinated or organized to anybody else.
