They probably have a limited pool of influencers they can draw from. There’s no point drawing from right-wingers, because their audiences are probably already on side. But most left-wingers are anti. And obviously the non-political creators aren’t going to wade in.

Wu has the advantage of being (theoretically) left wing and it the perfect combination of arrogant/oblivious/attention-seeking, while having at least some modicum of fame - even if he is, at best, a polarising figure. I don’t doubt that he gave them both barrels of self-aggrandisement.

I think it might be coincidence, especially since it sounds like it's an initiative they're starting to do, while John's trip was, surprisingly, actually planned in advance. Probably not as far in advance as he liked, but if I'm being honest, I'm still shocked he went at all. But the timeline makes it seem like it happened beforehand.

It also doesn't sound like John was really giving the influencer treatment. Far as I could tell, he was mostly doing touristy stuff, but they weren't really rolling out the red carpet for him. And he did like, what, a grand total of one tiny event that barely anyone showed up to? I think John got a tiny bit of special treatment by trying to brand himself as an influencer, but in the same sense that sometimes a site like Twitch will feature a smaller person as part of a bigger event. They might play their stream on the background of Twitch con or whatever, but obviously, the main appeal are the actual guests at the con. John was someone they'd let exist in the background, but not someone they'd put center stage as a mouthpiece. I bet someone with enough Twitter followers who spent a month or so posting vaguely pro-Israel things could probably accomplish similar things.

The actual criteria does not say anything at all about severity or intensity of the putative distress. Instead, it says "clinically significant distress" which could be a small amount so long as it is observable.

This is just Kermit's latest bad faith effort at rewriting criteria to paint himself as the only "real" tranny.
