Also I noticed more furfags were making pinata OCs kinda like the cyborg/android fad with the protogens. Are they trying to turn it into a fetish too, so they just fuck every pinata they come across?

Spitballing, so take this with however many grains of salt you wish:

On one hand, it’s probably just another fandom fad.
On the other hand, there’s been an unfortunate minor revival of interest in Lapfox Trax among younger and/or willfully-clueless furries and they have a habit of latching onto the happy hardcore piñata fox hardest for whatever reason, so it could be spurred by that as well. If not TQBF, then maybe some other fad character.
As a third option, I wouldn’t be surprised if piñata OCs started rising alongside pool toys as part of the rise of terminally-online people—of course often furries—who’ve started openly identifying as objectophiles/objectum, but that’s not guaranteed.

All three ideas might be right or wrong in any degree, but because it’s furries it’s for sure a sex thing for a good portion of them.

I mean, with all things, it has interesting character potential. But they all seem to be relatively copy paste of eachother.

There's also the chance some of them grew up playing or watching Viva Pinata, but that one feels more like a fever dream than a childhood memory.

Yeah, I've seen a few too many recent enthusiastic Lapfox fans for it to be a coincidence. Even if they wanted to take a "love the art, hate the artist" approach (ignoring all the producers that do what he does better) from the get-go, you'd think they'd want to be more coy about unironically liking the major furry EDM guy who's been known as a rapist sex pest for over a decade now.

I still wouldn't be surprised if the objectum route is a big factor, though. There's an alarming amount of minors who self-ID as it, and I could see them innocently glomming onto piñatas and pool toys because "objectum can be romantic/platonic, too!" then getting taken advantage of.

I know they're an idiot obviously but how do you call an obvious safety device, most likely required by the insurance company, an anti homeless design? Unless this reckless idiot was talking about something else he saw at the con, no one is supposed to be on the railings in the first place, let alone the homeless.

Scams and robberies targeting furries are so prevalent at Furvana that official safety comics are created by hired artists. The same furry convention is openly marketing itself to 16-year-olds. Also it’s looking like furries are going to to the woods near Furvana to have sex.
