Iron Fist - The second in the line of MCU TV fuckups.

I'm 7 episodes in and it's very good and most fan reaction seems to be 'Critics, you so retarded' in a chinesy accent like i just did irl

To be fair people have been saying it's the bottom of the barrel since Guardians if not even earlier. At this point I won't be surprised to see Speedball show up for how far they're willing to go.

Also where the fuck is Death's Head, MCU come on.

We'll probably see Death's Head in IDW before we see him in Marvel again.

Pacing issues overall seems to be a thing in Marvel shows. I like Jessica Jones and all but lord did that thing did not need to be 13 episodes. It still could've gotten the point across at 10.

I think I wanted Bruce lee meets Jackie chan out of the series for some reason and got your typical superhero plot instead.
Meachum, the drunk master, the karaoke assasin and the hobo were all highlights of the show although Harold was a bitter pill to swallow most of the time until he went all psycho

iirc he's specifically a Marvel character. They made a point to publish him as a one page story independent of the TF comics to make sure he wasn't part-TF license.
I've heard mention that he's popped up in the background of some Marvel comics over the past few years in some of the cosmic titles.

So was Rom, the Space Knight. IDW now has the rights to do that since IDW works closely with Marvel and DC. Many of the properties IDW has are Hasbro properties that Marvel also originally did.

I should point out IDW has been able to print UK Transformer comics and Doctor Who Magazine comics with Death's Head in them.

I'm only 6 episodes in but so far I'm interested. Jessica Jones annoyed me way more with it's "we have a way to stop Purple Man! Oops, nope, foiled again" plots every episode.

I'm 9 episodes in, I like it. I look past the flaws because it's definitely slow and I'm still undecided on whether or not I like Danny's actor, but when it's good it's pretty good imo. After seeing and hearing all the reviews I didn't think I would like it this much, but I definitely do think that the negative reviews have some legitimacy regarding the pace of the show as well as the acting. There's a sort-of "old kung fu movie" vibe it has going on outside of the drab bureaucracy that I really enjoy for the cheesiness.

I give JJ a pass because Tennant was a fucking incredible villain.

I've watched the entirety of Iron Fist now. It's good, they've set up the stage for a return to a second season. But Defenders is coming next, so I'm wondering how that's supposed to tie together with such a huge loose end at the current point of Danny's story.

K'un L'un is literally missing. Crime fighting time!

You shouldn't be allowed to give out suggestions.

The choreography is bad, the cutting is bad, the filming is bad but thats ok because the writing is as bad as well. I would also claim the actors are bad but the writers are not giving them anything to work with.

They should've opened in the mental hospital, then spent an episode explaining / showing K'un Lun before Danny has to break out or w/e. All the corporate stuff is ancillary, so just have Danny recognize that the Hand took it over so he has to defeat them before getting his old life back.

If you want a show that opens in a mental hospital and doesn't suck, good news!

You can watch Legion instead.

Ok I'm at Episode 10 and I got to say, bravo.

I did not see all of his friends being part of The Hand coming. Like, at all. I genuinely thought the guy who smashed the dinner truck cook was a bad guy homing onto Danny and I thought that the people who turned out to be The Hand were a bunch of wannabe hippies who were woefully ill-equipped and would all get slaughtered for being dumb hippy fucks.

I also thought that the board was under the control of The Hand and it wasn't them just earnestly trying not to fuck up the company

I'm enjoying this better than the Punisher-less parts of Daredevil Season 2 and most of Jessica Jones
