Considering he won't answer my question whether lolicon/shotacon is free speech or not, I don't think he'll last much longer.
Damn, really not beating the stereotypes there.

I keep using the online beer/weed example, because those already do not display that information publicly. I looked at my amazon page to be sure.

They keep arguing on this anyways, or in the case of a hack occuring. In which case, you already should have worried about that when you entered in credit card information/connected with your service provider if you don't use a VPN.

People really think we're going back.
People think that if we just bury our heads and do nothing, leftists will see the errors of their ways and give up their institutional power.
People think if we embrace "trve smol government " we can retvrn to the halcyon days of old.
I understand, I wish we could too, but we're not.
As much as we'd like to will away the surveillance state, it is not evaporating because some principled conservatives and child fucking libertarians think governments doing things is fascism.

There are two neighbors. Mr. Left and Mr. Right.
They both own guns.
Mr. Left has killed Mr. Right's wife, children, and parents with his gun.
Mr. Right is getting very upset and thinking of loading his gun to fight back.
Then along comes Mr. Right's drug addict pedophile third cousin: Mr. Libertarian.
Mr. Libertarian reminds Mr. Right that Mr. Left uses his gun and if Mr. Right shoots back Mr. Left might shoot back too, and he'd be just as bad as him!
"Ignore that he has already killed your whole family, if you do the same to him, he can do it back to you when he gets a chance, it is better to do nothing!", says Mr. Libertarian.
We cannot go back to the time before the guns were bought. We cannot go back to the time before the family was killed.

There is no moral obligation to cede power to zealous, ideological enemies out of fear they might oppress you.
They are already oppressing you.
We came within a hair's breadth of national legalized child castration and mutilation and it was only when Mr. Right ignored Mr. Libertarian and pistol whipped Mr. Left that the course was corrected.

I don't see this going anywhere frankly. Being vehemently anti porn is mostly confined to terminally online feminist/tradcon spheres.

Irl most people are either indifferent to pornography or just accept it as a "whatever it exists" part of life. A lot of normies are casual consoomers and don't have any interest in being ruled over by eunuchs or clerics.

Also if you trust the government to implement realID and not descend into totalitarian hell you are an absolute retard.
I just went to the store today and saw a bunch of tranny and furry shirts for sale with one liners referring to the owner of the shirt liking to partake in animal sex. They are now selling shirts that advertise zoophilia in grocery stores. Do you think something like that would happen if we didn't live in a porn sick society or is it just some silly concern that only feminists have. People keep fear mongering about what would happen if we didn't have unlimited porn all the time without realizing we are already on a slippery slope. When pedophilia becomes normalized just remember how much you had to make sure everyone had access to porn 24/7.

Do you hear yourself? 'You should have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide'. That's the George W Bush argument for mass surveillance.

Right to privacy isn't just about having something to hide. Everyone has curtains in their bedroom window, everyone's bathroom has doors with locks on them. Why? We know what goes on there. But everyone has those doors, everyone those curtains. Why? Because privacy is not secrecy. Just because you may or may not have something to hide doesn't mean that you should have to give up the right to want to.
1. George W wasn't just talking about sexual fetishes
2. I was being somewhat factitious

The alternative is parent your fucking kids. There's nothing else that realistically can be done
You can't force a parent to behave a certain way and giving your child unlimited access to internet isn't considered child abuse. I agree with the sentiment for sure but you can't control how people parent their kids and parents shouldn't be controlled either. But having blind faith that every parent is behaving correctly is naive.

This is the last I'm going to post on this topic because I imagine everyone else here is as tired of arguing about porn as I am. I just logged on today to a bunch of people pinging me arguing about porn so I figured I'd respond.

I'm seeing an awful lot of "muh UK" and "muh Democrats" but not a whole lot of alternatives to the ID proposition. At this rate we are going to have IDs for porn go through and you are just going to have to deal with it because It's people like you that are at fault. The Libertarian position of "just do nothing, accept the porn and start getting into gooning" is poison and retards don't understand that the people don't want to be as degenerate as they are. People want this issue solved and fear mongering about a situation that is frankly better than the situation we are in now is such a waste of time because you are accomplishing nothing, this is why the Libertarians have lost their support, they only want to tear things down with no alternatives or plans to make things better for people.
Pretty much this. Anyone that's crying about what could happen doesn't seem to have a solution for a real pressing problem in our society and instead of proposing of thinking of one they just doom for the status quo

Yes, it does matter. Either you believe porn is free speech and that includes lolicon/shotacon, or you believe that some pornography is truly obscene and deserves banning - thus reinforcing the idea that porn is not 100% free speech. Or you have some galaxy-brained middle position which I'm curious to read.
what I believe doesn't matter, nor was it even a topic when I was talking about posters in said thread being more than sus (as kids say these days), and thus being a shit example in any case.

what it is is another deflection trying to save your own ass getting called out. again, if US law is that simple, show me where the patriot act allows the infringement of your rights - because what it says and how it's used are two different things.
you being naiive enough thinking "obscene" only covers porn when even your glorified US law doesn't have a solid definition, nor thinking that there isn't vested interested in abusing such a law is hilarious tho, just like that MUH LOLI hill you for some reason are willing to die on. hitting too close to home with my initial remark?

I think the porn industry is civilization crumbling cancer. I think ceding powers to government is dangerous, and people who desire power over others should be distrusted.
wait till you mention who runs it, that really gets the thread going.

You seem to have desires involving getting fucked by the federal government. Are you okay?
u wot?

Damn, really not beating the stereotypes there.
what is this, reddit? "hurr he didn't answer immediately, I win!"

Ah, I see. So you do think lolicon is free speech. Okay, you sick gooner.

whatever works for you trying to save face. I'm gracious like that.

We tor users leave you alone for ONE day and you all talk endlessly about online titties. It's almost as shameful as someone whose only job is to keep a website online failing to set up certificate renewals for one of his domains.
it's the weekend, nothing's happening (nothing ever does) and plenty of free time.

If that makes me a baby-faced retard to you, then I wear that title proudly.
I'd never call you a retard, bud! Well, maybe as banter...

You remind me of my younger self. I simply think you'll become more jaded as you become older, and you'll probably find the candle of your faith start to dim. Because you'll see the same shit happen, over and over again. The same kind of shitty people will continue to abuse that system, and they will rub your face in it, but only subtly. Just enough for you to pick up on, even if the midwits don't notice or care.

Because you can't legislate human nature away. And yet that has become the goal of government. But, like I said, I'm pretty jaded, and I honestly hope that candle continues to burn bright for you. And I hope the system can be restored to purity, I really do. I'm simply resigned to the fact that it wont. Because there are far more people who don't care and don't want to know. Nobody wants to know how the sausage is made so long as its tasty, ya know?

If you are saying that it may cause government overreach boo hoo that's already happening. In fact, you should want this if you are concerned about it. Shit like SOPA/PIPA and COPPA were pushed because we have to operate under the assumption that the entire internet is accessible to children and thus has to be catered towards them. Half the legislation like it would have the wind taken out of the sails if we already age gated adult communities.
The government knows who the kids are because they're all enrolled in school and they're all given school laptops.
Here's the simple solution: make the ID requirement... but only for kids.
If you want to access a computer as a kid, you need to use your student ID or school issued device.
Patents with school-age children can set it up as a authentication cerificicate required to log into Windows or use a phone, with a 2-factor authentication override for the parents so only the children need the ID.
When a student logs in using their cerificate, they only have access to a "sandbox" internet
and can only interact and see posts or websites created by those who are in a similar grade as them (unless otherwise approved). So little Tommy can't join a Discord where he'll get groomed, since from his perspective it would only ever have people around his own age.
Filters are implemented client-side, and learning about / setting up parental controls has one parent-teacher night per school year dedicated to setting this up and updating it for the school year.
