We are here to hate on Jason, not to suck Nintendo's tiny blurred dick. Please, stop this faggotry immediately. Also you are wrong and retarded.
^ this

i was already confused when people started hating on expedition whatever the number just cos maldy played it rather than the correct reason of it being french but yeah defending fucking nintendo cos maldy criticized it is beyond retarded

not every game mald plays is inherently bad just cos he played it and going on that tangent makes y'all fucking sheep like you watch reality tv

if you dont want to agree with mald in public because that reminds you of ferrets running out of mana you are allowed to not say anything

Mald got reminded that hussie (and ig toby fox was making a game while helping this guy) took 7 years to make homestuck a 8000 paged webcomic while hes taking 9 to make a game where hes the 1337 coder
To be fair, Hiveswap, the Homestuck game, has been stuck in development limbo for years, with Act 2 released in November 2020, and Act 3 nowhere in sight.

Boring xeets today...

Secret of Evermore had wonky balance at times and definitely a budget knock-off Secret of Mana; but had enough unique stuff to have its own identity. Most memorable thing was each time period had its own money, and you could either grind or use an exchange. Other than that, toaster dog and the Energizer Alchemy broke combat; so once you're in the final zone, combat becomes more of a formality than challenge.

Unless these lights move around maybe I'm pretty sure these are prebaked. I saw a short of his on it, where it was basically just a section of gamma / brightness boost, boosting the floor, and character walking into it. So not ray tracing, just basically a gamma boost sprite for light sources, and a deboost sprite for shadows on like people.

For a good benchmark of ACTUAL dynamic lights in a 2d game, intravenous is a very good example.
-line of sight has a slight light effect, based on what physically in the players line of sight. (purely aesthetic of course)
-Light from bulbs propagates more if a door is open to allow the light out, and the light updates in realtime. (light also effects stealth)
-despite being 2d, theres 3d effects, like overhead bulbs casting a shadow longer and longer the further away you are from the bulb.

You can see the lighting here is on another level, actually deserving the title of "dynamic lighting"

So yeah, I haven't played jasons game, but the most im seeing is "see?! we have lights! therefor its dynamic and raytraced!!" but it seems little more than sprite based, similar to how rimworld does it.
Intravenous II (and I as a remake inside of II) is fucking badass and unlike Malds game actually finished (twice!). Also made by a single man, Roman Glebenkov, which is what Mald wants you to think is happening to heartbound.

Comparing it to Hotline Miami is obvious but it's much more comparable to Slav Metal Gear solid or Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six/Splinter Cell.

tl:dr
Intravenous I (and II) > Heartbound

In short,
Nigger, it has nothing to do with "right to repair", you bleating fucking retard. Stop making shit up for engagement.

Companies have been using "muh piracy" or "muh security" to clamp down on right to repair for a very long time. Louis Rossmann has documented it well. I'm sorry to say but Mald is right here, the timing is suspicious, no?

This shit is almost making me wonder if hes being used as false opposition. Right to repair, and fighting scammers is good, and yes, nintendo is anti consumer. Its YOUR device, you should be able to make it into a fucking drone if you want.

To those who don't know the concept of false / controlled opposition, basically this

-get someone with shit reputation whos hated.
-get them to support something you're against
-knee jerk autists say "WTF, I HATE THIS NOW" and hate it by association
-shifts public opinion

While I understand being skeptical of things of this nature, as far as I'm aware, that hasn't been the case yet for Nintendo — despite how ass backwards and greedy they've been before — so, like with many other things, if Nintendo starts infringing on "right to repair" with their anti-piracy, "brick your console" measures, then I'll eat crow.

For now, though, nothing immediately states that this might be the case. The system for how Nintendo checks for modifications on a Switch console is already known at this point anyway, and most repair jobs, as far as I know, don't tend to interfere with the whole "fuse checking" thing Nintendo does to verify firmware.
You must be a huge fan of Black Lives Matter.
That's an unnecessarily disingenuous remark.

Just because I think Mald is trying to generate engagement by being misleading here doesn't mean I automatically, blindly support Nintendo.
