But no. Your visa isn't yours and you can't just jump to another industry. You can jump to another job IN that industry but you can't get one to teach English and then use that to work translation.

Does she even have a degree? So long as it's a four year degree Japan doesn't care if it was in basket weaving or modern dance. So long as it's a 4 year degree from an accredited university.

Without that she's really fucked and there's no way she can survive there on an English teacher's salary and support her midget husbando.

No, she notoriously couldn't get even a communications associates degree at community college because she failed out of the remedial math. That's the thing, she's really not too old to get a degree still at all. Lots do in their 40s and beyond. But she's too lazy and stupid for sure to do even an online one.

She's always had this hugely inflated view of herself so she thinks they'll take someone with no experience and no degree because she's just such a Japan obsessed nut and weeb.

Because it's not the japanese studios usually doing the localization. It's the companies licensing the shows for overseas distribution that handle it. Same reason why there's Canadian dubs of shit in English, then a separate US company does it, then maybe some european company will do it.

This is a lengthy video, but it goes over there being 3 different translations of a particular scene in Vinland Saga around the 4:20 mark
And that of course isn't anywhere near as bad as the companies that have just butchered scripts, swapped music with insane shit, and so on over the years. Wit Studio and MAPPA aren't going to give a shit about translating it, it's not their job. But they will take some of the money from another company who will pay to do it.

And Armz occasionally gets work from a company like this. But keep in mind, she's not even a fucking translator. She's literally just setting up the captions in the already translated script she's been giving and maybe adding descriptive text for audio since it's actual closed captions and not just subtitles. So yeah, she gets paid to add <upbeat music playing> or <birds chirping in background> on the fucking screen

You're missing what I'm saying. It's not the japs who do that shit at all, it's companies from outside of Japan that localize it.

If Armz seriously thinks anyone in Japan is localizing anime for an American audience with no means of distribution she's a fucking retard.

edit: She could be thinking of other youtube channels, there are plenty who have staff for editing shit and even filming, but editing staff wouldn't need to be in Japan either. Her fatass certainly isn't going to walk around with a camera, flying a drone for background footage, going on hikes, etc. to do any of that kind of work either. She's a delusional middle aged fat white lady from Texas that has the mentality of a fucking teenager still, with zero understanding about how her own country works, let alone the damned world. She got booted from community college for fucks sake, that takes effort. There is literally ZERO job opportunity for her in Japan, and never will be.
