I found two apps last year that give you incentive on counting steps by paying you in gift cards. Been using this and actually helps me reach my goals on steps. The two app Winwalk and CashWalk.
The other app I use pay me in their own Crypto currency and this app is call Sweatcoin.

That seems suspicious. What is the product in this case? They have to have some financial incentive for running that app. It might be deleterious to the downloader.

The financial incentive the app make is that they just make you run ads after you hit your gold on steps. For example, once the app counts a certain amount of steps, they just make you play some ads and give you points. Each point you claim adds up over time and you can cash out for gift cards. For me, I just mute my speaker, and just let the ads run in the background while I am running. Sometime I just run all the ads to just claim the point and cash out. If you are still suspicious, you can just use a VPN and just run ads if you are worry about privacy.
