Red Dead 3/Red Dead Redemption 2 - IT'S HAPPENING.gif

I honestly agree and there technically is still a way. The only pitch for RDR3 that interested me was a pitch I saw someone give in a youtube comments section. The gist of the idea was Jack fleeing north to the Yukon/Canada to avoid the WW1 draft (And or charges for killing Ross.) and trying to build a life for himself now that he can't return to America. It's probably the last and so far closest area for Jack to go that's still wild enough.

I have no interest in another fucking prequel tbh and I feel like another prequel featuring the Van Der Linde gang would be milking it at this point, the only other option I'd like would be something unexpected like a new character or even bringing back Red Harlow, that'd be a welcome shock.

But we all know what's actually going to be is RDR3 is going to very predictably follow one of the two dead Van Der Linde gang members mentioned during Chapter 2 and then are never fucking brought up again. It's so obviously planted and left incredibly vague so R* can just do whatever they want with them. The end of the game will probably be the Blackwater Massacre or something predictable like that.
I am fairly certain that RDR3 is pretty much going to be a prequel to the prequel. Setting it after RDR1 would be too late time wise, as by then there is no more "wild west" unless they decide to set in in Alaska or something. But yeah, odds are the new story will centre around Jenny, Mac and Davey (the members who died during blackwater) and the story will just be a buildup to the heist.

Oh this guy.
For those that don't know a majority of the shit he uploads is fake. He does it with mods. As far as I know you can't actually hit the ghost woman at all, like... well, a ghost.
But he gives all of his videos clickbait titles like this to farm those views.
What about those videos where they torch NPCs in a cutscene? Are those mods too?

I mentioned this before but I think that RDR3 should be set in the 1860s-70s, right after the Civil War and California Gold Rush, and should expand the map up the West Coast. No Van der Linde gang, just cameos by the older characters, and it should be far more open-ended than story-driven, with your character being a true Spaghetti Western drifter.

When and if they make a RDR 3 what time period will it be set in?

RDR2 is already a prequel and anything later than RDR1 is no longer wild west. Although I would like to see Jack Marston's adventures.
I think a prequel of a prequel is a silly idea. Either you let the series dies, or it's a sequel where you're either playing as or chasing after Jack Marston as he flees to South America, Asia, or Africa.

Put it in something interesting like the Russian civil war

If it moves away from the old western settings its gonna be like 'Call of Juarez The Cartel' that was set in modern day Los Angeles and Mexico. We did see how bad that did go, it killed the whole 'Call of Juarez' game franchise. Its better to just end RDR than ruin it like that.

Anyone know where I can commonly find a moose? Or know a glitch that helps me respawn one that wasn't patched now? They are very hard to find and they almost NEVER have a perfect pelt on them, especially when you need them.

Brandywine Drop right next to where the Perlino Andalusian spawns. One appears every few days in the game.

Na, I did some research, and even into the Twenties and Thirties you still had shit going down. The last big train robbery took place in 1937, and in the 1930's you had groups like the Dillinger, Barrow and Barker Gangs who used cars instead of horses for their fast getaways.

Now, that's just the Thirties, but considering that Prohibition went into effect in 1920... Hoo boy, plenty of room for chaos.

The only way I'd be interested in an RDR2 prequel would be if you still played as Arthur. Rockstar then lean right into the time travel shit with the rock carvings/time travel/kifflom dude or whatever, and you could somehow save his son and babymomma. My boah deserves to live a happy life.

I found a copy of Red Dead Revolver. I remember this was originally a Capcom project before turning into a Rockstar series. It’s not as meticulously paced in the story or level department compared to its contemporaries, but it’s simple enough to follow through on its own.

Since I just remembered forgive me if it's been mentioned in the thread before but if you ever wanted to see the closest thing to a Proto-Red Dead Redemption, I recommend you check out Gun. Yes that's the name. Just Gun, it was made by the old Tony Hawk devs, Neversoft.
It came out a year after Revolver and I wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar actually took inspiration from it because it weirdly has a lot in common with RDR1 in terms of gameplay and design. Though obviously not 1:1 but unlike Revolver it's semi-open world. (The world is really small tbh but the fact that it has it at all is interesting.) it's mostly linear though there's a few sidequests and collectibles ect. The story isn't half bad if not cliche.

It's also really fucking violent so it's based for that. :semperfidelis:

Thomas Jane voices the main character too. So that's a plus.

I recall a bunch of Indian tribes getting pissed off over the portrayal of their ancestors as what they were, violent, and the portrayal of scalping [other people get scalped and you can also take scalps], but yeah it was extremely fucking violent. Fun game, recall it being one of the first ones I actually bothered to collect everything and get 100% in.

That popped in my head after I was playing Revolver. The original Xbox version is oddly cheaper than the 360 version.

Onto Revolver, I like the campy theming of its portrayal of the Wild West. It has serious moments, but the bite size shooting gallery levels make it more digestible and enjoyable for its intended purpose of being a video game.

However, I have three annoyances with it. Aiming is fixed between the X and Y axis; you cannot freely aim as well as the sticky auto aim throwing you off. There is no reload button; you have to exhaust your magazine to reload your guns. Lastly, you have to "stun" bosses to register damage. I'd rather them to be bullet sponges, at least it'd be consistent to handle.

I could forgive the aiming because of the age, but no reload and cheap boss design ruins the pacing of an otherwise potential cult classic.

It's got a couple of big names in it from what I remember but I can't recall them all off the top of my head. They also got a real movie writer to write the story and cutscenes for the game so that's probably why they were so damn good. Though it probably helped they literally sat him down and told him flat out "This isn't like a movie, the players have the power to skip your cutscenes whenever they want so it's your job to keep their attention." more writers need to be told that.

It is kind of impressive that despite the graphics of the time, the game still manages to make me wince at times. There are some brutal deaths in that game. I wish game devs weren't such pussies nowadays.

Yeah I find it difficult to return to Revolver myself. It is very unfortunately a product of it's time, jank and all.
