I think Phil has always been extremely racist and homophobic, and has always hated people who aren't straight white males. He just learned a long time ago that it's best to hide his true thoughts from the internet or risk getting cancelled into oblivion. We almost saw his true self emerge with DSPolitics, but he wasn't willing to abandon fence-sitting and go full right wing.

To play devil's advocate he's played so many games he probably lacks the ability to sort it all. That said, if I played so much shit that I couldn't remember what I played I wouldn't be claiming to be anything close to an OG. At the most I'd let my team know that I'm washed and I'll need to be carried. But because this shit has been popular for decades Phil has to quickly claim "I was there, dood!" like the hipster he is.

The thing I don't get is why he's doing that ?

Being an OG in popular game doesn't bring you anything and nobody cares if you played 10h or 200h if you don't have the skill that comes with it...

All it does is remove the excuse of "I never played a game in the series before" from the valid excuses pool

And him claiming he played CS back in the half life mod years is just pure bullshit... Especially cause all his modding experience resumes to failing to install a controller mod and just adding shaders to minecraft and elden ring... so only superficial stuff

Don't get me started on how his weird "it's just like old Dust map" larp... Dust 2 is very different from dust 1 there's some supperficial similarities but outside of that they are wildly different.

You could argue maybe he's comparing the old dust2 from go or source to the one from cs2 but anyone who played dust2 on source or go will notice the sniping linesight you used to have near Terrorist spawn is different.

So no it's not the same and anyone who played at least one round on dust and old dust 2 and dust 2 from cs2 will notice the differences because CS unlike Call of duty is a game where you need to think about your surrondings and not just run and gun

I've noticed that he seems to want to be an oldhead to literally everything and there are many different examples but recently when he was playing CS2 he first said "how do I aim down the sights?" and almost immediately followed it with "oh yeah this feels just like Counter Strike 1. I played it back in the day when it came out."

So he is an OG CS player who was there day one and can remember how the game felt that he hasn't played in 30 years and also doesn't know you only aim down sights with scoped weapons. It's like he wants to steal that valuable gamer valor.

This is like when he was asked on smark guys if he knew how to use torrents to watch wrestling. Instead of just a simple yes or no Phil’s immediate response was “Dude I was using torrents the day they came out.”

Or when he said he was there day 1 in the arcade when super turbo released. Everyone knows how sheltered he was as a child but he expects you to believe he was there day 1 as an 11 year old grinding ST in the arcades.

Funny thing about his begging. I checked RawPhil fore his day stream because it seems he again made arrangements behind da scenes to get his slop on the early stream and he had as a top tip 2$. So the majority of his over 300$ he made on stream was "late money" His liquidity is definetly taking a big hit unless he is actually saving up money

Every day is an endurance test. Sometimes I'll try to argue when he says some dumb shit. I'll do this until I physically say "Wait but isn't... oh whatever." Which happens a lot. It's autistic I know but I need to entertain myself.
Personally I think each wagequit, each retired segment (DSPolitics, DSPReacts, DSP Lego), each tech issue is a milestone. Here's the reason you're bored: He really isn't trying to come off like a content creator. Not that he did in the first place. But now? EVERYTHING is half-assed. He'll buy a game play it for two weeks and not finish it. And I won't bother listing everything he's dropped this year but if you know five, there are probably six more that you're forgetting. He boots a stream up begs until he hits the goal and begs a little more. End stream. Repeat the next day.

Phil was complaining about E and R both being buttons you need to use to play the game 'I'm going to be honest, its going to be hard to do this (pressing R) , because... it's way to similar to E its like the same button'. He's such a professional gamer he seems unaware he can just rebind buttons if he wants but what an insane complaint to have, he can't press a button if its next to another button. He has no fine motor skills at all. He also can't walk in a straight line, he keeps veering off diagonally very frustrating gameplay.

It really does make me wonder sometimes whether he was always like this or whether the decades of alcohol abuse, stress and poor sleep completely wrecked his nervous system, on one hand he did play a lot of fighting games and was half-decent at them and that requires a lot of fine motor skills. On the other he was never that good at them and I don't ever remember him ever having really clean inputs. Even back when you look at his fighting game uploads from 2008-2010 he'd drahp really simple inputs all the fucking time.

I mean, how in the everloving fuck do you explain this if not for the fact that he has underdeveloped motor skills and hand-eye coordination?

I'm guilty of starting and stopping games myself, but I always have the intention of going back and beating them someday unless I end up really disliking the game, plus I pirate most games before I buy them so I'm not wasting money on something I won't enjoy in the end. It feels like he quits way more than he actually finishes now.
