How do you read "Boeing (which is a government contractor who primarily works with the government) should be nationalized because they are failing" and get all that? Boeing is primarily a govt contractor, nothing would change except standards would be put in.
No, if Boeing were nationalized, it would no longer get anything done at all, ever, because every position in the company of any meaningful salary would become a political sinecure. Moreover, under federal pay rules, it would no longer be able to pay their top engineers the salaries they currently get, leading to a massive brain drain, worse than has already happened under DEI.
Independent contractors with the federal government also get far more leeway with hiring and firing. If you think DEI is bad at Boeing now, the next time a Democrat gets in office, whatever they're working on will immediately take a back seat to "researching the impact that the history of discrimination has had on the participation of black and brown engineers in federal defense programs." And, of course, nobody below the Director level at the company will ever be fired ever again.
In America, if you own a business, investors will ask you if you are minority or woman-owned, because that still, even under Trump, puts you at the front of the line for federal contracts. Once you are actually in the government, you just went out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Sure, Boeing's merger with MD did a world of bad, but the thing that's really killed them over the last 15 years is they decided to prioritize the race & gender stuff that would satiate the Democrats and keep the defense budget big. They've run out too many white males who knew too much.
Fixing it means ending institutional anti-white-male discrimination across all levels of government and business, and then taking 10 years to hire and train a new core of competent white males, from the factory to the R&D teams, but I'm not holding my breath.
