Rowling podcast with my mom and she didn’t know what terf or cis meant or that people were saying men had periods and women had penises. My dad knows even less about this stuff. They’re on the younger side of Gen X so they’re not even that old yet.

If you go on Facebook for family updates and puppy pictures and don’t watch the news too much (or only briefly watch something like CNN before switching to Netflix) it can be pretty easy to miss. If Tumblr hadn’t banned porn, which forced the absolute worst of the troons onto my Twitter timeline, I’d still dislike them and think their belief system is stupid but I wouldn’t be completely aware of their depravity.

If you’re fairly busy and apolitical and actually go outside and touch grass a lot, it’s easy to not notice this shit until Lia Thomas’ picture pops up all over your feed or your k-12 kids come home talking about their gender.
