New V3 Dev Diary

V3 haters are finally going to have to apologize because the game is going to be good after 3 or 4 years. Last couple DDs have been nuts
Yeah, I'll be ready to say sorry for being unwilling to wait nearly half a decade for the opportunity to pay Paradox to make the game good. Maybe if I practice, it'll sound sincere

"V3 is finally going to be good and a worthy sequel to V2" says fan for the 3rd time this year
"V3 will finally be good after the 4rth dlc. It's been a long time and a lot of money spent but it will all be worth it."
This mindset has plagued and ruin the strategy game genre since the past 15 years.

>Andronikos Doukas
Did the Doukas clan still exist into eu4's timespan?
We don't know for certain if the patrilineal line continued past the Komnenoi - though given how common the surname Doukas became it's more likely than not - but we do know for certain that it continued matrilineally as many who adopted the name Doukas did so because they had matrilineal descent (e.g. the Komnenodoukai).

It ain't happening until they rework warfare both naval and land. Building toy factories in glorified cookie clicker menu just ain't enough to keep me interested.
I would rather micromanage gorillion mobilization stacks in v2 and reorganize armies after than fight one land war in v3.

Vic 3 would've been better off if they didn't reboot what essentially was a Vic 2.5 with improvements to the game and engine over Vic 2, in favor of the piece of shit it released as.

Yeah, Victoria 3 would have been great if the military wasn't the most dogshit thing.

Might be a hot take but I never liked EU4 but I'm hoping EU5 is good and it looks like it's shaping up to be.

Call me autistic, but I believe the thing that prevents me from enjoying EU4 is how ugly the game is. The UI, especially, is heinous.

And everything is so tiny.

I know here in this forum people would rather suck nigger cock than hear the word accessibility, but font size should be top priority. I have shitty eyes, but I still want to be able to read the fucking text.

"But there are scale options in the game, bro". Yeah, but it doesn't work properly, and everything becomes a jittering mess.

Stuff like this is why I hate Stellaris. It's not that it's unbalanced, unbalanced is good as long as it leads to good gameplay. But playing the game normally without some ridiculous stacking modifiers feels pointless. They'll nerf it, and that won't just kill this strategy, it'll make regular gameplay worse too.

If you're a low IQ chud like me that just wants to have some fun building an intergalactic empire without some master plan from the start, you are shit out of luck. Because everything has been nerfed into the ground to account for specific exploits. Nothing works unless you follow some spreadsheet approved meta. You can’t just wing it and see what happens anymore. The game punishes anything that isn’t min-maxed to hell.
