I looked at the website for The Scott Shady Court Motel, and I find it really hard to believe that they want any part of this. Here's their about us section:



They're leaning into the retro vibes and the family-friendly angle. Perhaps Russ thought that extended stay options for miners automatically translates into "willing and able to accommodate a whorehouse"?

Their website is a little gee willikers but also really endearing. They have extensive bios for their staff members and a photo gallery of pets who've stayed at the motel. Their Facebook mentions being family friendly as well as "clean and safe." In other words, I really doubt Russ has run this little plan by them.

In the vein of Greer trying to use things that aren't his, in Greer's presentation he presented an alternate plan to open a brothel of using an existing motel instead of the Gilman land. The Scott Shady Court Motel which is about three minutes away from Baud street where the brothels formerly were.

I had assumed this was a newly closed or abandoned building Russ was proposing to renovate. It's the only way allocating part of a hotel makes sense. Suggesting he take over half of an ongoing business is so insane, so completely retarded, it didn't even cross my mind.

Every time I assume Russ means something straightforward or normal, I am mistaken. There should be a Greer Principle, like "always assume the maximally retarded case".

It would be interesting to ask the owner of the hotel if they've had any conversations with Russ, perhaps even on May 6th. It's not directly relevant to this copyright case (lol), except to show to the court what urgent business he was pursuing besides the council meeting. It might also turn up a concrete buyout offer, which could be relevant if he really is planning to fight for his IFP status.
