The thing is Phil has had more relationships with Women than he has men and none of the ones he's had with men were reciprocal in what he wanted from it.

What protects OPL is he's not able to conceptualise a relationship in real terms, Phil comes across to the kind of women he is interested in as a smart mother fucker (they are normally young or slightly more retarded than himself) once they are in a relationship with him the soon realise that Phil isn't even close to being what he claims or looks like, and that causes a fair bit of drama.

Having wrote this really makes me want to finish my Phil and Sex write up but I can't write more than a paragraph or two at a time before having to take a break and a few stiff drinks. Understanding Phil and his sexuality and his relationship with sex is hard hell it could cause a terminal case of autism by osmosis, and trying to describe it is hard really hard, there are a number of concepts that most people can't understand that Phil thinks like, the best example of this is trying to play Pictionary, Jenga, and Monopoly fused into one game and it's the first time you've seen it and your very very drunk... that's what getting into Phil's head feels like at the best of times let alone when he feel's horny, and I've had to do it many times and I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

Basically Robin introduced Phil to Maria or Maria introduced Phil till Robin. According to one version of events Phil only met them via various protest stuff not on any real social basis.
Whilst Phil and Robin are very chummy online they have only met IRL a couple of times and only ever in very public venues (a pizza place, a community centre or at a feed) they arrive apart and leave apart.
At some point Phil confused Robins friendship (asspatting) for romance and declared his love for her. Robin played the "im a lesbian" card but Phil played his "so am i".
Robin countered with "I could only ever be with you if you transitioned" trump which is what changed Phil from being all "evil tranz fuck society's transitional views" to "I totally chopped my balls off".
A further wrinkle appears to be Robin and Maria have prior sexual history apparently and may only keep up the pretense of being Phil's friend to keep an eye on him and make sure they can make excuses to avoid him way in advance.

It's difficult to track because it's all pre facebook but the time line appears to be

1: pre tranny Phil meets Maria
2: meets Robin around this time but she's not a player yet
3: punches Maria
4: tranny shit
5: Phil breaks up with tweaker
6: Robin meets Phil for pizza
7: Phil tries his luck and fails

I don't think Phil ever gave up on Robin since he never gives up on any obsession.
Even now he has hate boners for dusty, Kori, Jordman and Rika but seems to have largely forgotten ellie and John.

It's not like Phil is going to be any more willing to work there than in Portland*. And a brand new country isn't going to have a tardbux system in place for months, if not years. Phil would have nothing.

This is something one of his formers asspatters tried to talk to him about before and couldn't make him see sense.
