When it comes to Tartarian schizos I dont "get it" Isnt there enough of impressive Steppe empires? so why not go with real thing instead of making shit up?
That's because the Tartaria they talk about is supposed to represent modern Russia - subtle propaganda for their Eurasia aspirations. It's easy to repurpose old myths into modern propaganda, like "New Atlantis" or "New Jersualem" representing utopian aspirations.

Other than being an allegory for your inner conscience and the north pole, Agartha/Shamballa could also be great game propaganda for whatever North Korean esque proxy state the Brits and the French wanted to create in between Russia and Tibet/China; think of the hidden king of Shamballa and the failed conquest of the Mad Baron.

Pretty much every colonized country has to wrestle with the fact that they were colonized in the first place. Sure your colonial masters brutalized you and stole you from you, but why were you so weak to allow that to happen?
More importantly, its not like colonial powers created divisions and started conflicts in places that never experienced before hand.

The most Europeans can be blamed for is drawing lines in the sand such as in Syria/Iraq or Afghanistan/Pakistan/India which became focal points. If Durand never drew his line that wouldnt have stopped Pashtuns from fighting over the Khyber Pass.

It seems Nick Hodges is hiding some of his videos under pay walls now.

Oh damn, Dark5 is still around?
Yup, and he has several subset channels he occasionally uploads to with different themes. Spectacular background/starting info but in the crowded YouTube space, his videos aren’t nearly as detailed/in-depth as I wish they could be. Still, one of the best listicle YT channel(s) out there.

Yeah I really enjoy his various military-themed channels. Lots of interesting subject material and great background noise

Has anyone brought up DJ Peach Cobbler yet? Dude's style is funny yet informative, and he feels like he spent half of his life on his/.

The best story I've heard about Rome and Egypt was about a Roman senator or diplomat that was in Egypt when they were ruled by a morbidly obese effeminate pharaoh that would wear see through mesh clothes. The Roman had this fat tub of shit take him on a tour of the city in which the pharaoh was incredibly winded and out of breath. When back home the Roman was quoted as saying "The Egyptian people should thank me, I've proven to them that their pharaoh can walk!"

Pretty sure the Pharaoh in question was Ptolemy VIII Physcon (Potbelly).

One one hand you can tell a lot from just a single bone by way of comparative anatomy but on the other hand i think they're jumping the gun sometimes.
As an example, the Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park 3 was based on 2 fossils, 1 of which was destroyed in WWII, and one of which was a skull fragment. Spino is actually a fantastic example of this issue, as you can see how its been through like 5 different iterations of "this is what we think it was like" in the past decade.
