I remember Zack talking about going over proofs and how his self-diagnosed "OCD" was a huge pain in the ass for his printer. He said he'd suspended print jobs over some bullshit that even he admitted virtually nobody but him would even notice, like the kerning on an apostrophe. It's fine for Zack to make his late books even later due to neurosis, but not fine to send out a book (on time!) with a misprint and an immediate good faith effort to do right by your customer.
