Doom has been charting super low. I know Steam is only half the story, but these are below Veilguard numbers.
Also, it released with Denuvo, so they can't blame piracy.

The hater threads are full of people who don't really know Synth and want to find every reason to hate him just cuz. Where do the ones in the middle go then?

It's very positive on Steam, but I think only the biggest consoomers are going to be reviewing it in the first place. Minimum RTX 2060 and a 70$ price tag for a singleplayer game? No, thanks.

There is forced raytracing, no way this decision wasn't backed by some shady deal with Nvidia. I'm still on 2010s hardware and everything I am interested in runs at good performance. Only the latest AAA releases give me problems. I guess they must force people to buy their overpriced cards somehow.

Most people have cards that support ray tracing now, I think the bigger sticking point the $70 price tag. Everything is expensive as fuck now and 10 hours of content for $70 is a poor value.

I was kind of looking forward to the new Doom but I was not avidly following it; I never hop on new games within a few weeks of release. Reading this made me see red. $70 and forced raytracing is so fucking jewish that I don't even want to pirate this. I don't even want it touching my computer.

She's buddy buddies with Phil Lamar who does a fuck ton of voice acting so it's a combination of nepotism and her being a loud, abrasive, bitchy woman which is like 99% of female characters nowadays.

She's black and a woman and not young so that's three diversity checkboxes right there. She has a long history of doing voicework, including videogames, in addition to on-screen acting, so she presumably doesn't have a hard time adapting to the more modern videogame acting model where you're doing a combination of voicework and mo-cap. She bangs out multiple gigs every year so she seems to be a hard worker. She's very good at interacting with fans. If you're a AAA studio, she's apparently a dream hire.

This is why I don't think the Synth thread will survive long term. Most people absolutely obsessed with the idea of Synth as a lolcow seem to have very little to say about Synth himself.

What they really want is to fight with and "epically own" his fans.

Synth himself is fairly dull.
