Nick literally just went to an event where people paid hundreds of dollars just to watch people shit on Aaron Imholte. Nick may personally know Aaron and think Aaron stabbed him in the back, but to the attendees and organizers of Hackamania, he's just some random guy that has no impact on their lives.

Since he mentioned the nanny giving alcohol to his kids, I will just take the Occam's Razor and say that cocaine wasn't the only thing that his kids got their hands on "accidentally" because it was laying around in the open.

Cocaine is a known gateway drug to alcohol, I wouldn't be surprised if Nick thought that if he allowed the kids to drink it would be more acceptable if he showed up drunk at the diner table.

A g.a.l. isn't a representative. They're often lawyers but don't need to be. They are a guardian appointed by a court when both parents are incompetent to protect the children's interests. They're different from appointed counsel, and appointed counsel isn't likely to side with the abusive or neglectful parents.

So I doubt Nick, lying or not, was referring to the appointed lawyer.
