Celebrity Meghan Markle / Rachel Meghan Markle / Meghan, Duchess of Sussex / Meghan Sussex / The Alliterate One - Markle Snarkle

A producer of my acquaintance says that Meghan had a reputation in Hollywood for being the kind of actress you’d never want to be alone with; apparently she was always overly familiar and seemed to be on the make. The fear was that she’d make a pass and perhaps claim she’d been sexually harassed. “You’d never even have lunch alone with an actress who’s that tactile and friendly,” in his words.
I remember the Weinstein story how she was "too eager" for HW, and he was laughing when he heard she was engaged to Harry, a sort of "I had her first".

Not just that, but the assertion that Kate was a “social striver” since elementary school is a new one and not based in reality.
I was kind of hoping that at least one Harkle-hate thread on the internet wasn’t going to be dominated by sycophants worshipping Kate Middleton’s bony ass. God forbid people note that a state-sponsored socialite is a messy, flawed human being just like her sister-in-law, her primary skill just seems to be being less interesting.

“William was cute when he was a teenager! Of course Kate would have pursued him even if he weren’t the prince! Meghan is the bad one who took status into account!” Fantasy land, all of you.

Catherine and William made the Time 100 list, noted as innovators and influencers, while Meghan didn’t make the list at all.
A thread on Kiwi Farms in 2025, taking Time Magazine seriously. As I live and breathe.

I stated a fact (Catherine and William made the list; Meghan did not). This is noteworthy because she spoke at the Time 100 event in NY recently. But you’re just having way too many conversations with yourself about this thread instead of dealing with what’s actually been said.

She isn’t gonna date you, dude.

This is the Markle Snarkle thread. It is challenging to find a place to hate on Catherine and Meghan at the same time because Kate is a natural foil to Meghan both in the press and in our plebian commentary. I've previously dissed Catherine in the British Royals drama thread (linked in the bottom of the OP) but it wasn't popular there either. Perhaps you should create a Catherine the Cow thread but it likely won't take off since she's successfully been extremely boring for quite some time now.

Agreed, which is why my remark was an offhand parenthetical in a comment about Meg. Apparently suggesting that Kate is a human being with agency is a bridge too far for her stans.

I disagree, however, that it is “challenging” to hate on multiple state-sponsored celebrities at once.

I did not say it is hard to hate on them both. I said it is hard to find a place to do so because of the nature of their relationship. People naturally contrast them and Meghan always ends up on the bottom.

Bingo. And as we see with r/SaintMeghanMarkle, the topic attracts more than its fair share of absolute lunatic conspiracy theorists. Several years ago on r/blogsnark, a fairly large subreddit, the mods completely banned any discussion of the BRF because people just couldn’t be reasonable about it and were all but sending death threats to other users who didn’t hate their pet cow enough.

can you fucking mongoloid retards stop reporting each other and just get along, jesus fucking christ who gives a fuck about this mulatto english whore, this thread is not worth the amount of effort it'd take to figure out who is the least likeable person posting in it

Last time this thread ruined your evening you said use reports instead of derailing the thread to slapfight each other (:_(

Huh. I was not aware one could be "too eager" for Hollywood (especially in relation to what women were expected to do with Weinstein to get a foot in).

You learn something new every day, I guess.

Report reason: Spelled "Catherine, Princess of Wales" wrong
🧩 She is married so the title takes the definite article: Catherine, the Princess of Wales. 🧩

Meghan has been told this many times and omits the definite article — giving herself the styling of a divorced duchess — because she’s a dumb cunt.

How esoteric is this styling rule? I've seen it brought up before but nearly always see Catherine referred to as CPOW without "the".

How interesting. I’ve never seen that (though I believe what you say). But I would guess you haven’t seen Catherine or The Firm itself doing so. Journalism is dead so I can believe media would get it wrong.

As with anything etiquette-related, it’s a protocol in place to prevent awkwardness. The title styling signifies marital status with the aim of avoiding unnecessary, potentially embarrassing conversations about a person’s divorce. Anything that qualifies as specialized knowledge is inherently esoteric. But with the exception of Meghan, who has taken it upon herself to discard this bit of protocol, the rule is consistently observed within British nobility.

All that said, Meghan’s flouting of this protocol is unprecedented. Personally I read it as an overt symbol of disrespect to prioritize her desired personal branding over a centuries-old institution’s rules. As if we didn’t already know how little she thinks of said institution (whose title she’ll keep exploiting anyway).

Yeah the BRF and press statements get it right but journos almost always seem to get it wrong at least when I was watching for it. I was actively looking for it around the release of WLM on Netflix when Meghan started really insisting on stamping DOS on all her projects and it became a topic of discussion. I didn’t wade into it in the OP because it seemed fairly obscure and Meghan’s got so much low hanging fruit already lol

Edit - I wonder if they screw it up due to Diana keeping her Princess of Wales title, so she must have dropped “the”, right? Her death was the most press that title has ever seen so maybe they’re used to seeing it that way.

Correct.

Something I always found incongruous with “the people’s princess” is that by all accounts it really upset Diana to lose her HRH styling after her divorce. This wasn’t an agreement not to use it, as H and M did in the Megxit deal. Queen Elizabeth II issued a Letters Patent, a formal legal instrument that formally removed Diana’s HRH. It’s widely believed that QEII wanted to let her keep it but Charles insisted. This would have meant Diana had to curtsy to anyone with an HRH, including her own sons when they came of age.

Diana was so enmeshed with William that she cried to him about all of her problems, including her relationship with his father. Paul Burrell (not necessarily the most trustworthy source) said that he heard a teenaged William tell her, “Don’t worry, Mummy. I will give it back to you one day when I am king.”

H and M will not have their titles removed, and when Anderson Cooper asked why they wouldn’t formally relinquish them, Harry responded, “And what difference would that make?” It hasn’t seemed to have occurred to him that it would suggest genuine independence from the institution he and M claim is trying to murder them and their children. In truth he knows it’s a valuable piece of marketing collateral.

Needless to say, Cooper didn’t follow up with any of the questions a journalist worth his salt would have asked.

Its not new at all. I remember seeing the gossip rags calling the Middletons upstarts pushing their daugthers into high society. Especially around Williams and Kates wedding, they focused on what Pippa could gain from her sister elevation.
ETA clarification. I mean her mother was the one painted as being obsessed with the prestige, not Kate herself.
